Disney's Beauty And The Beast: The Broadway Musical - Original Broadway Cast Recording - Original Cast (CD 1994)

I remember the night. It was December 21, 2000. This was the night that I saw the Broadway production of my favorite movie Beauty and the Beast. I was very excited. Needless to say that the show was great! It was so great that I had to have the music. I picked this CD up on the way out.

Summary of Movie:

Belle is the "odd" but beautiful daughter of the town inventor. Her life lacks something. She spends her time reading and wishes she had the lives of her favorite heroines. Gaston, the town jerk, wants to marry Belle, but she sees right through him for what he really is and has no interest.

One night when her father is traveling to the county fair to enter his invention, he looses his horse and enters a black castle. There the Beast that lives there takes him captive.

Now the Beast has his own problems. He is a prince who had a spell put on him because he was mean to an old beggar woman who wanted shelter from the cold. He needs to find true love to break the spell.

Belle finds out about her dad's capture and goes to get him. There she becomes captive by the Beast too, and her dad goes free.

We then follow the adventures inside the castle. Will the Belle break the Beast's spell? Will Gaston get in the way?

The CD:

This CD is just as great as the play and the movie. If you have ever seen the Disney movie Beauty and the Beast, it has all of the songs in the movie and then some. The CD has over 70 minutes of live music and is well worth the $15 or so you will pay for it.

I was disappointed that one song called "A Change In Me" towards the end of the play was not one the CD. Belle sang it to Chip and her Dad about how she was growing up and changing.

This CD is great and is perfect for anyone who likes musicals, Disney or Beauty and the Beast. A true work of art and a very pleasant CD to enjoy anywhere
