Pros:
An album full of great songs!
Cons:
The underrated status of this album.
Tunnel Of Love seems to be one of Bruce Springsteen's most underrated albums. In my opinion, that is a shame. Not only does Springsteen branch out in new lyrical directions covering the topics of love and relationships more thoroughly than in the past, but he also sets out in new musical directions as well. Many of the songs seem to walk the line between sadness and hope, loneliness and comfort. A contradiction that makes each song emotional and inspiring.
My personal favorite, Tougher Than The Rest, paints a vivid picture of a man's desire for love and his vow of commitment. With it's pounding drum beat, dominant keyboard, and repetitive motion, this song draws you in right from the start.
From song to song this album is a true gem. If you have not given Tunnel Of Love a good listen to, then you are still in the dark!
