If you don't have this album, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!?!?!?
All the tracks are golden. You get fast and hard plus soft and slow all wrapped up in one killer album. Possibly the best album to ever come out of Pearl Jam. Relive your grunge days by throwing on this album in the cloudy/rainy weather.

Their first, and possibly greatest, albumEvery song on the album is a keeper, and the album really gels together. Their later albums are still fantastic, and I won't write off the possibility that they create an even better one, but Ten is still the gold standard. Virtually every US teenager in the 90s grew up on PJ.

At a cursory glance, and after doing the proper research, it seems to me that Ten is Pearl Jam's most divisive--- and hardest to write about--- album. Opinions of Ten don't just run the gamut; they sprint laps around the gamut and throw back occasional taunting glances. From my studies of various musings regarding Pearl Jam's most popular album, I've been able to safely discern five different schools of thought: * THIS IS SOME MONUMENTAL, EARTH-SHAKING SHIZNIT. Pearl Jam, the only surviving band from the early '90s Seattle "grunge rock" movement. Somehow they've managed to keep on rocking despite all the ups and downs they've been through over the years. Their sound is constantly evolving, and while some would argue that no newer material comes close to Ten, I happen to think that Pearl Jam has gotten better with age. That's saying a lot since I consider Ten a phenomenal piece of work. The first song that grabbed my attention to this album was Jeremy, one of the band's biggest hits and the one that earned them a Video of the Year award before Pearl..

In 1991 a sound began to emerge on a national scale, largely from orginating in Seattle Washington, that has come to be known as alternative. The flannel shirt wearing, guitar busting rebels spelled the end of the "hair bands" with their gritty style. Ten is my favorite Pearl Jam album and one of the best albums ever. It, along with Nirvana s Nevermind and Soundgarden s Badmotorfinger completely revolutionized recorded music. Pearl Jam's Ten, released in 1991, is a rather confusing album. Why? It's dismissed by folks who don't know any better as just another "grunge" album, and I suppose that limits the appeal of it in some circles.
