I would consider this Madonna's best album, including her most famous songs, such as: Like A Virgin, Material Girl, Papa Don't Preach, Lucky Star, and Vogue. A desire to sing along and move to the music is definitely expected when listening to this CD, with its Pop/Dance sound and catchy lyrics. Most of the songs are about sex, infatuation, fantasy, and love. So fun to listen to in the car, while doing chores, or getting dressed! A must have for a Madonna fan!
I have the tape version, but it;s so incinvenient. The CD was only a penny and it plays great. I looked at a Cd store's website, but it was too expensive. The price really attracted me.
This is BY FAR the best Madonna album ever released. If you are a Madonna fan, this album is a MUST HAVE. I actually bought two...one for the house and one for the car. This way I don't have to carry it back and forth. My favorite on this album is Like A Prayer. The production on that track is spectacular.
The CD came in excellent condition and it played real good. I found this cd somewhere else a little more pricey then what I paid for this . I am well pleased with this purchase.
This disc has all you favorites to drag up all those fond momories like lucky star, papa don't preach, like a vergin, material girl and vogue --- Buy it!!!
Madonna has been around and around and around, in more ways than I am allowed to describe here. But there is a reason for this. She is good. Since this is a collection of hits, you cannot go wrong, especially if you are a Madonna, or anything-like-Madonna, fan.

Pros: Has some good songs
Cons: Has some songs I could do without ever hearing again
I would like to start off by saying I'm not the biggest fan of Madonna. But, I do like some of her older music and new music. There are some of her songs I could do without hearing ever again. When Madonna's "The Immaculate Collection" came out in 1990 I got it mainly for 5 songs of hers. Madonna's "The Immaculate Collection" consists of some of her first songs from the early 1980's, and a few from the late 1980's. The Immaculate Collection is one album any die hard Madonna fan should own. The songs: 1. "Holiday" (4:04) 2. "Lucky Star (3:36) 3. "Borderline" (3:59) 4. "Like A Virgin" (3:11) 5..

Pros: Great beats, hooks and melodies.
Cons: The songs are needlessly altered; a new version of "Like A Prayer" is weak.
It s pretty difficult to imagine popular culture without Madonna. Whether she induces loathing, adoration or complete indifference, it would be hard to find anyone cogent of the last twenty-five years who wouldn t recognise her. Now that is celebrity! Of course, beneath the countless reams of articles spewed out discussing her personal life, morality and (especially) sexuality, it s easy to forget there s a reason she became a pop culture icon. Hint: it wasn t her good PR. The Immaculate Collection was released in 1990, at the arguable apex of Madonna s superstardom. Her first greatest hits..

Pros: great pop
Cons: "Like a Prayer" is butchered
Blender magazine once equated Madonna s Immaculate Collection favorably to the Beatles 1. The actual quote isn t important; the gist of it was that, in terms of pop-music compilations, The Immaculate Collection is actually superior to 1. And, you know, they re right--- and before you feisty little Beatlemaniacs get your hands on a matchbook and a rotating spit, hear me out. Quality-wise, and talent-wise, could I compare the Beatles to Madonna? Probably not. Instrumental talent is a clear Fab Four victory--- Madonna s instrumental virtuosity appears to be limited to a rudimentary working...

Pros: A nice greatest hits for Madonna's earlier career
Cons: None
When you listen to this album, you are listening to seventeen reasons Madonna is one of the leading world entertainers. Giving a detailed depiction of her career from it s explosive beginning to the time this collection was made, every song is a second in time for kids growing up in the eighties. Madonna is the ultimate chameleon when it comes to music. She wants to have fun. She wants to find love. She has experienced hurt. She likes to get laid. All these songs represents different sides of her as a woman and women in general. The first song is all about having a good time. Holiday is a...

Madonna's Greatest Hits--A Not So Immaculate Collection

Pros: the songs that made Madonna a household name
Cons: does not contain all her hits; songs are remixed and/or edited
For the casual music listener, Madonna's The Immaculate Collection, a greatest hits album released at the end of 1990, is the best way to hear her early hits. Madonna is primarily a singles artist, and this 73 minute CD contains 15 of her top hits recorded during the '80s, up to and including her 1990 smash "Vogue." For this compilation, Madonna recorded an extra pair of songs that were later spun off as hits, "Justify My Love" and "Rescue Me." In other words, The Immaculate Collection is Madge at her creative peak. The addition of the two new songs is the standard practice of including bonus.
