Motorola V710

The product was advertised in a misleading way does not work in my area it stays in the roaming mode and was a waste of $ 70.00. I am and was very dissappointed in the product.

I purchased a used Motorola V710 cell phone for my mother. She was having problems with reception in our rural area. I knew that the V710 worked well in our area, and I this way I would be assured that the phone would work. I did not want to pay full price as we are up for renewal in a few months.

The cell phone itself works very well. The charger has a loose connection, but we have several chargers that do work with the phone. All in all, it was a good buy.

It is a cool phone except the poor camera and stupid bluetooth lock from Verizon.. I had to crack it for file transfers.. Nice to have expandable memory ; MicRo Sd ( On sale at Radioshack ) I bought 1 gb which lets me have around 200 mp3's to listen like a dedicated mp3 player,...

Camera is bad but the screen is 256k color TFT; I uploaded 3gp movies to watch.. crystal clear

A little heavy and not easy to carry in your jean pocket : go buy a leather holster..

I liked the model, had one like it. It was less than half price buying locally and I like blue tooth technology. I have 4 children so wanted a spare incase one of theirs went bad again. The price was really great. This model has been a good one for me as I now have 3 of them, two in service & a spare.

I love the phone and what it does but the battery life isn't the greatest!! So I would go to another cell phone that has a better battery life!!

I was disappointed with the quality of the phone I purchased it does not ring and is beaten up pretty badly. the shipping was timely though. guess thats what to expect when you buy used merchandise.

I love all the options this phone has to offer. I haven't dropped a call since I started using it.
The only problem is the voice commands don't work every well using a blue tooth nor, does the blue tooth have very good reception at distances more then about 10 feet.
I decided to buy the phone because it offered features that I was looking for, the price was right, and my old phone was not a good phone at all.

First time, we received the wrong charger with the phone. But the seller was easy to contact and got the new charger in a week. But we had to go through the unnecessary work of shipping the wrong charger and had to wait for the correct one.

Overall:
Overall transaction could have been better. I have to rethink before if I have buy again from this seller.

This phone worked well for approximately one month. Since then, I can hear my contacts clearly, but they can only hear my voice intermittently. The rest of the time is filled with static - much like what you would hear on a CB radio. It is a huge disappointment, because the price was great and it has all the features I wanted. I am only hoping that when I contact the seller I can get some satisfaction.

Very durable and reliable will be sad to sell it! This is one of the best phones I have ever have and I have used over ten different cellular phones. Anyone to get one of this should be glad and very satisfied. The new phones are made not as durable nowadays and people would be lucky to have phones this study in the future!

I recently re-upped my US Cellular contract. I needed an upgrade in phones. But, I decided to let my daughter have the discounted phone that came with the new contract (She got a new KRZR 1M).

So, for my phone, after doing some research, I found that the Motorola V710 has all of the functions of the Razr's and Krzr's. Having more of a regular flip phone style, it just wasn't in the sleak new style that is so popular.

Since I'm more concerned with function than keeping up with the latest fads, I decided to buy the V710. And, I ended up getting one "like new" and very much as described (even better) on Ebay for $56 plus shipping.

I love the huge screen on the V710 and it's overall durability.

(Note: a US Cellular technician showed me some of the parts that Motorola uses to get the Razr's & Krzr's so sleak, particularly their flimsy, plastic screens. He told me that they aren't very durable at all, and that he see's problems all of the time because of it.)

The camera on the V710 operates at 1.2mp. So, pictures and videos are noticably not as good as those on my daughter's Krzr. (I think the Krzr's are 1.3mp)

But, I'm not that much of a photographer. And, the other functions are awesome. I love using the mp3 player. And, I really love having the MicroSD slot and the fact that it is at the top of the phone instead of below the battery like in the Razr/Krzr's. I also am happy with the speakerphone & the flexibility and the reliability of the calendar & the alarm.

I am very happy with Motorola's software--which is made to provide you with a lot of flexibility to setup the menus, access, etc., pretty much any way you want.

The original battery that came with it doesn't last very long if you use many functions. And, I use the phone alot to get news, weather, sports and to check my email when I am away from a computer. But, from my research, I knew about the battery going in. So, I purchased (again on ebay) an extended battery (SNN 5760) that fits in the phone with the original battery cover. And, I get more than enough battery life.

The things that I am less pleased with are likely US Cellular issues, I believe. While you can apply pictures from your MicroSD card to be used as wallpaper, you cannot apply songs from the card to be used as ringtones. I think the carrier is trying to get you to pay to download their ringtones. Again, I bought Motorola's Phone Tools 4.0 on ebay for my gaughter to get around this problem. I haven't tried it yet myself. And, I haven't heard from her yet as to results.

Another thing that I am less-than-pleased with relates to the iTap function. It works great for regular phone functions like text messaging and other functions when you need to type. It even works in other languages. (My daughter's studying spanish, so I send her spanish text messages sometimes.)

But, again, a carrier issue I believe, when typing on Easyedge (the carrier's mini internet service), you are not able (or allowed) to use the phone's iTap function. Typing is very cumbersome in Easyedge, which is frustrating. So, getting emails and other information on the phone from Easyedge is awesome. But, sending emails or sending IM's even using an Easyedge AOL program--not as good.

I read in my research and saw in ebay that there are hacking programs that you can buy that will get around the carrier limitations that are placed on the phone's functions.

said the phone was newer, yea in 2005. the battrie was low after one use. the service was no good. the phone is now out of commison.

This site has no way to cancel or change the order. You are totally stuck when trying to place an order if you make a mistake on the order, you bought it! The e-mails I received from the operator of the web site are illerate. I have tried to return the items that arrived damaged and the items we ordered in error. The e-mails we received are like they don't know how to accept returns. The items ordered were small plastic telephone clips (wanted 2, received 6) and the postage was $22.00.The entire package might weigh 8 oz. We did not request over niight or anything special. When I e-mailed to ask why the postage was so high they never responded to that question. I won't be doing anymore e'bay ordering, very disapointing to say the least.

I bought this phone because mine broke.... I am very pleased with my purchase and this seller.. he went above and beyond.. When I received it the battery would not hold a charge, I asked if I could buy one and he sent me one for FREE! I have never experienced anything like that.... I am more than happy with this phone and would recommend this seller to everyone!

Service was prompt and the cell phone arrived in great condition. The price was fair and just what I needed to complete my contract with the cell service, without having to buy a new phone at top dollar.

I believe it's old technology. But it is good enough for my 12-year old who wanted to be able to take pictures.

Daughters phone was dropped on sidewalk and totally destroyed. Needed new one at cheapest price. Great phone for price. Worked great for my purpose.

Here's the scoop on this cell phone. This item has a great MP3 player. Extra songs can be uploaded on the cell phone using an SD-Transflash card. An SD-Transflash card is a Secure Digital Memory card that is seperate in two parts. Same principle as the Sony Memory stick and it's counterpart Pro Duo Series but just in a smaller more integrated format. This cell phone sometimes echos, even in the new version of it that just came out. It has multiple alarm-wake-up settings.

The Camera on it is okay. It's a little over a mega-pixel, so don't expect much from it. You will like the video-record function. One feature I use on this cell phone is it's voice record function. I record things such as where I parked at Wal-Mart. I don't care who you are, but everyone loses track of their car at Wal-Mart. You can plan current events throughout the year with this cell phones calendar function.

Blue Tooth is quite a nice feature for you "tech savy people"

You can send video mail and text messages and also surf the internet. Don't expect much from the internet function though. It's still strickly text only format.

Physical Ability: I'll be honest, I've thrown this cell phone out of a car going 80 mph, ran over three times and dropped too many times that God would even frown at me. It still runs....so much for trying to file cell phone insurance.

The phone was missing pieces, gets poor reception compared to my Nokia, the picture quality is very bad, and I have alot of problems keeping it charged even after purchasing two batteries. I intend to return the V710 when I find a phone with better quality.

it works but the camera is broken. which is extremely annoying. also i believe the battery is dying because i have to charge it all the time. lame.

the phone was NOT 10 OUT OF 10. Maybe 3 out of 10. fast shipping but the product is a joke. I will NEVER buy another item off of e-bay again.

Verizon and Motorola's first CDMA Bluetooth phone, it is a good phone, I think the updated E815 is better, but keep in mind Verizon will always be Verizon, when they disabled most of the Bluetooth features all you had left was a phone that would use a wireless headset, BIG DEAL. I know what Verizon said, I'm a dealer, the truth is plain, they wanted to charge you for all types of connections to your PC. Phone is a good one, but I have notice it doesn't take much to start getting white screens. Flex Strip problems, seems to be somewhat better with the E-815. V3 is alot better phone
