I like this book for the reason that it not only has a book but a journal. I used this in a time in my life when I needed to find myself as well as God. It was during my recovery from drugs and alcohol. My husband also did this book and journal while in prison, and it made his life change as well. We are both members of a church and now proud christians. If we hadn't done this book then who knows where we would have ended up. I challange most ppl to read the book and also do the journal. I gaurantee it will change your life!

I purchased this book during a very difficult time in my life. Though I do not agree with the whole concept in the book, it did give me a what I call a pathway in which to take my life. I have always believed there was a purpose to each one of our lives and this book helped to reinforce that belief. I have shared this book with friends and family and each of them has come away with a better understanding of why they are here, also. This is a really great book but you must use it as a tool along with your own beliefs.

BEWARE when giving this book as a gift to a non-christian or new believer it could confuse them. This book does NOT discuss repentence. The NEW AGE seeker friendly church is teaching that salvation is FREE. This is WRONG. Christ paid a BIG price and we must repent as we ask Christ to become our savior and as we become that new creature there may be persecution ahead depending on where on this earth we live. God's Word says to suffer for Chist is to be blessed.

I purchased Purpose Driven Life for my own personal study. As I talked to friends about the book they wanted to study it too. So, I ordered another two books and have started a group study.

Buying though e-bay saved me money - about one third of the bookstore price even with fast shipping so I am very satisfied and will look to e-bay first when planning any other purchases.

We all have wondered more than once in our life "Why am I here? or "I wonder, what is my purpose"? This book helps us to search our innermost thoughts and desires and can help us to understand why we wake up each day and continue to exist on this planet.
Our mission is more than to exist, but to help each other. Not only during times when everything is going well, but to help and encourage each other during hard times as well. When we feel unimportant and lost and no one cares that we exist, we need encouraging friends, and need to offer the same when we see others in need.
This book helps us to remember things that have been forgotten in this fast paced life we live. Everyone who beleives in creation owes it to themselves to at least review it.

I liked the simple way the subject was presented. It was easy to understand the message contained in the book. This book is easy to read and presents a great deal to make you think about yourself.

I received this book as a gift when it first came out, and honestly read the first two chapters before laying it aside, and then selling it in a yardsale. It has some good ideas, but I can get more out of my Bible. Also, I didn't have time to do all the journal writing, so it just didn't work for me. Everyone is different though, so someone else may really gain alot from it.

This book is awesome for everyone that is searching for their purpose in life and for reasons why he or she was created. The very first sentence in the first chapter almost sums up the whole book. I would suggest that everyone get a copy of this book, read it, study it, and dwell on each chapter until the book gets embedded in your mind and most of all embedded deep within your heart.

This is an excellent book. I have throughly enjoyed the book. The chapters are short and easy to read and understand. Having a used copy absolutely makes no difference. It was much more affordable purchasing the book from Half.com. I have enjoyed it and will pass it on to family or friends.

I just finished a '40 days of purpose' study of The Purpose Driven Life. This book is so full of wisdom that applies to your every day life. It really causes you to think about how you will spend each day; how you will handle trials (big or small); how there is significance to the details of your life. It really causes you to think about the specific plan God has for your life (Jeremiah 29:11) and that your response to the 'every day stuff' will shape you into the person you become.

I was very happy with this book.. The writer especially , he has an amazing writting skills and very descriptive making it easy to understand what it is you are reading..I am a big fan of Richard Warren. After completing reading this book I actually went and bout 2 more for friends of mine that were extatic to receive them..I am anticipating his next title to come out..

This is one of the best books ever. I would recommend it to anyone 16 and above.
Me and my friends are reading this book together each week. We are all in college. It is most compatible with college students. We are reading one chapter each week, talk about the chapter, memorize the verses, answer questions from the book, and share our thoughts and feelings.

This was actually done in our church during our 40 Days of Community. Since there are 40 different sections, we fit one day to discuss the issues and watch videos. It definitely brings a sense of what we really desire back into our lives and centers the mind, body and soul. This really worked in a group setting. It opens doors for discussion on different topics and leaves the reader knowing that God has an intended purpose for each one of us. "Every hair on our head has been accounted for." We have been given a gift and it is up to us individually to unwrap our gift and use it in the way that it was intended for. Many of us our blind-sided by other's gifts and think that ours is not good enough. This book will show you that you are part of the great wondrous works of this world, and without you and your "purpose", something is not complete.

Rick Warren did an excellent job writing this book. It is broken down into 40 days and can be read by even the busiest of people. A few minutes set aside each day for 40 days is all it will take for you to get through this book. A small investment considering how long we are on this earth. I'm not all the way through it yet and it has changed the way I look at things as a whole. He really puts things into perspective. I read a new section every morning and it gives me food for thought the rest of the day. Reading this book does not require you to be the holiest of Christians. Anyone with the superior belief in God should read this. Before this book Rick wrote a book called, The Purpose Driven Church, the ministers of our church have taken examples Rick discussed and used it. Our member count has increased every since. If you are a Christian this is one book you have to read.

This book has given me a sense of fulfillment. As I read this book, I think to myself that God has purpose to all things he puts us through, good or bad. This book has strengthened my beliefs and helped me to understand our greater purpose.

For anyone who's looking for direction & understanding in this world should read this wonderful book. That would be everyone. I'm all for gifting a copy to all you love & care about.
