A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle (2008)

The absolute best book I've ever read. This book will help all of mankind to be a better human being.

I heard about this book on the Oprah show and decided to give it a try. It is truly life changing. It has changed my entire perspective on life for the better. I wish the whole world could read this book. If that were to happen there would truly be peace on earth

This book is life changing. It is the single most important book I have ever read. I have been following along with Oprah and Eckhart's online class which is great. A person has to be ready for personal growth for it to resonate. But for those who are ready, it is a book that will awaken you! There is no explaining it. Just buy it and read it!!!

I have been looking for answers and explanations for decades. This book is a combination of things I have learned from, Wayne Dyer, Neale Donald Walsh, John Gray, Gandhi, and the endless list of enlightened authors I have read over the years. I do not believe everything I read, hear, or that I was taught as a child. I have learned to listen to many opinions and ideas, take what I want, and leave the rest. After struggling for many years and praying for answers, Eckhart Tolle shed some light on who/what I we really am. I always knew I was not, just, my human body. I have had experiences in my life that most would not believe. After reading A New Earth, I have a better understanding of why I am here, what I am seeking, and how to continue. This book is not for everyone, as you can tell by reading the reviews, but it is for me and many others. You will have to read it more than once. The videos, transcripts and audio recordings of Oprah's online class, makes for a great study tool. I highly recommend this book.

A New Earth has been a tremendous help in teaching me how to be more present in every situation in my life. My stress and anxiety levels have decreased and I feel happier in almost every situation. I've been following along with Oprah's Web Event on Monday nights and have found that this helps me to dive into the book even deeper. This is a wonderfully written piece and I tell everyone I know how much it's changed my life.

In my opinion this book serves as a good tool for people with perhaps limited insight. It did not provide me with any "A HA" moments but that is probably because this has a field of study and curiousity of mine for 3 decades. People 40 and younger would most likely have several epiphanies reading this book. It might make the world a kinder, safer, and all around better place if it were mandatory high school/college reading, and everyone in a position of power would benefit from it as well.

Yes, you've heard good things about A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle. Most of them are true - but it's only beneficial if you put the brainpower into reading carefully and attentively. I often had to read paragraphs several times to fully comprehend all of the references to philosophical principles, the concept of consciousness and the "paradox of time".

If you are an introspective person, this is a great book for you. If you are completely hung up on any religious fundamental ideas - you'll have a lot of overcome. His message is benign, not divisive, taking from several major religions to highlight their commonalities.

It's definitely not a summer beach read, but you're selling yourself short if you don't think there's anything to gain from a little heavier reading.

Tolle writes in so much prose as to be too deep for anyone to grasp the concepts easily. I gave my copy away. I have friends who have gotton on board, but even they must read, reread, digest and then are still left confused. It's virtually impossible for the average person to NOT be in the ego all the time. Tolle has a lifestyle that allows him to do this. While many have had their "aha" moments, this book won't give it to me. Now, "Happier Than God" by Neale Donald Walsch is simple, direct (after the first 9 chapters) and gives you much more when the book is finished. You'll what to have a highlighter handy.

I really love this book; it has changed my life forever. I'm almost finished reading it and I will recommend it to all my friends and others. I'm even thinking of buying more to give to my loved-ones as presents. I talk about it to my co-workers and they all can't wait for me to finish reading it so that they'll borrow mine and read it too. I liked that the book has life references that I can identify with. I brought the book so that I could read along with the Oprah Book Club online.

I am still reading and highlighting, more yellow on the inside then on the cover.
There is a lot of truth to what Mr.Toole had written and has helped me in my own life as far as how I relate to different situations regarding my elderly husband.
This is a book that I will read again and again as I am sure there are points that I have missed...

It was a good book. A nice way of looking at life in a simple and positive way. Getting back to nature most definitely makes you see what's important around you. We focus way too much energy on the silly things in life. Some parts weren't so interesting, but keep reading, there will be other parts of the book that you'll relate strongly to; and others, a bit less.

This book is very difficult to keep up with. It's for college-type people who like deep reading. I am at page 62, and struggling to keep going. I do coordinate it with the transcripts of Oprah and Eckharts telecasts of Monday nights. I get more from reading the telecast transcripts than from reading the book. I constantly have to struggle to keep my mind on the book. I guess i am cut out for lighter, more entertaining reading.

Everyone should read this book, I am in Chapater five doing the Oprah study and have learned so much, buy the book and keep reading.

The book helps you reach problems within yourself. So I this book is super knowledgeable. There is nothing I dislike about this book. I decided to buy this book because it is a book on Oprah's book club.
