The Godfather DVD Collection (2001, DVD)

This is a great, GREAT, collection to add your collection. All three movies are good movies, with two of them (Godfather 1, Godfather 2) being in The Top 20 movies of all time.

The special features are lacking a little, but that is to be understood, the trilogy was made (starting with the original Godfather, in 1970) so coming up with special features, deleted scenes, etc, from a movie produced 30+ years ago is quite hard to do.

But all in all this is a fantastic collection, a great keepsake, and three great movies.

I highly recommend this collection to any fan of film, mafioso, mobs, or Francis Ford Cappola.

Price, quality, ease of purchase. I appreciate the ability to review and compare an unlimited number of products on eBay.

I never got the item. This was one of those items where allegedly the item was put up for sale without the sellers knowledge and I was screwed out of my money. Its funny how ebay wants a review about this and not the other 500 purchases ive made and actully gotten. They pick the one that I got screwed on.

I have no comment because the Brian Williams Sr. known as blwjr7 kept my money and did not send me the Godfather Collection.After I sent my money Ebay sent me a security breach about the guy which was a little to late.

This trilogy stands as one of the best movies ever made in my numble opinion. It certainly doesn't glorify organized crime but it does seem to quite accurately portray what that life must be like. It also shows what a great cost must be paid to have that kind of power.

I bought it because I enjoy watching this caliber of work again and again.

I love that I have all the discs together, in a complete set. Replacing my VHS the original Godfather(2 tapes) and the Godfather Part 2(2 tapes) BULKY!!I think that this collection is an ABSOLUTE MUST for all DVD libraries.

The Godfather is one of the very truly great moments in movie making history in all of its three volumes. Mario Puzo has given us a masterpiece here. This is an interesting look at a subculture which is focussed on the needs of family while being outside of mainstream law and political correctness certainly. You find that in the culture of a mobster there can and is concern with children. Selling drugs to kids is rejected even if it means risking lives in turf wars. Every culture has those that are its bad players and we see those here too. The concern with the needs of ones own kin, ones closest responsibilities while carving out a piece of the economic pie through ventures that are deemed relatively harmless relative to drug running (prostitution, gambling etc) is shown in a way as to make the humanness of these mob figures something that you cannot reject outright on some false idea of self righteousness in that a perhaps more selfish existence is something others have for themselves exclusively without even so much of care for the community as these mob figures show for their very own.

In the end however there is too much uncertainty with the lifestyle too much brutality too much bloodshed and too much cruelty. A better way has to be found for all the actors on the stage of crime mob living as it just aint worth it for the just and great society to see it persist.

The exchanges between Diane Keaton and Al Pacino are interesting showing that he has great sincerety, real masculine idealism of sorts and a sense of goodness that most dont have even outside of mob dealings and leadership. That said, it is brutality that vents itself in seeming insensitivity in that the force with which he needs to express his ideas, where he has to draw the line for her would be overwhelming to an Irish gal if she saw herself as an outsider here. Within his own kinfolk circles Al Pacinos outbursts would be seen as not ill intended. In this respect things lose their meaning when they are out of context and indeed out of place altogether for one or both actors.

These are great movies. I bought them for my husband's Father's Day gift. The delivery service was great and the price fair.

This is the Godfather for crying out loud, one of the greatest trilogies of all time. Fantastic actors, storyline, and really what more needs to be said besides... "Tonight Luca Brazzi sleeps with the fishes."

Marlon Brando and Al Pacino really showed the best for this one. It is unarguably the best Mafia Based film you will watch. Watching one will make you want to watch the other and the other until you get to the special features disc. The quality of the DVD is great and also the look of the box set is awesome. It is a great gift to give for any occasion. You will have no regret in buying this item and you for sure get your bang for your buck.

dvd is in excellent condition and fast shipping. I purchased this item as a bithday gift for my brother and he loves it.

No one had to hold a gun to my head to let me know that this was a great price! I had been thinking about purchasing this set at the store for months and then bought two sets for the price of one. I was able to keep a set and give a set as a gift. As fro the movies???? Come on! Classic!

I like and love everything about the collection. I bought the collection for my son for his birthday. He is a godfather fan. He absolutley loves it. Very good selection.

I love these movies. This set of movies has so many great lines. This is a must have for any movie collector. It is a nice set with the inserts and I bought it because I didn't have it. I wanted to be able to watch all three movies in a row without any commerical breaks and lines and parts cut out. Let's face it we have all seen these movies on the tv sooooo many times but there is nothing like seeing it uncut.

The tape was poor quality....Dark and sound very muffled...Contacted seller and not a positive outcome. Would not use this ebay seller again....Was very disappointed since this was a gift. Knew that container maybe damaged...which it was...but tapes not good. Listed as never used...Seller said all DVD in NEW condition and not previously viewed. However, how would the seller know if the tape was in excellent condition if the tapes had not been previously viewed???? Can't have it both ways..Seller is probably a good ebay seller, but was not able to satisify me and therefore will not use again.

Had several other ebay buyers ask me about this seller.....

It's one of the classic "gangster" movie. The directing in it is great, and the story's are great, and the acting is flawless. In fact, all the movies in this collection are outstanding, a "must see."

The Godfather Trilogy is my favorite movies of all time. I'm into Mob/Mafia films and this is the best that I have watched. It's like the E.T of adult men (as Tom Hanks said in You've got mail). The Godfather 1 & 2 are the best out of the 3 movies. Some say that The Godfather 3 is not a good movie, but for me I think that it's misunderstood. the only thing that destroys the movie is the acting job of Sophia Coppola as "Mary Corleone". She didn't do a good job. But all in all, this movie is the best. And it stars my favorite actor Al Pacino. You should check this out or else you'll miss three good things in life.

If you are a Fan of one of the greatest movies every made you must have this collection....many years ago I purchased the VHS collectors set. Then I purchased each of the movies on DVD. I finally broke down and purchased the complete DVD SET. Great content,and a great piece of movie history. A must have for your DVD library. You won't be dissapointed.

Francis Ford in the 1st God Father did a fine job, but to get all three of these master pieces together is worth it totally. The movies will take you on a venture through the whole families story from the early years, till the very end and fall of the empire. This is possible my most favorite of series of movies ever made. Parts II and III are almost as good a I but hold thier own. My highest recommendation to get this collection and have it on hand to watch over and over again.

It is okay movie. Though, I want to say about DVD collection. This is too much of talking and explaining... Get just the parts without additional materials. It will change your view...
