Microsoft Zune Black (4 GB) MP3 Player

The zune is a real good product. well made, and good and easy software. In the house we have 4 Ipods range from 2 gigs to the video 30 gig version and 2 Zune, the 4 and 30 gig versions. and to tell you the truth the ipod gets used by my wife for the games that are on it and that is the only reason. we use the zunes everyday. I connect it to the xbox 360 and listen to it while I play halo 3 online. I like the zune more than the ipod.

I would give the Zune HSA-00001 4GB a 6 out of 10. The quality of construction seems to be solid, the sound quality and radio tuner are a step ahead others, and the compact design makes this device quite portable. However, the Zune interface and PC side software are a big disappointment.

Upon opening the packaging you are greeted with a beautiful new electronic device that is neatly wrapped, shinny, and seems to cry out "Turn Me On"! Unfortunately it isn't quite that simple. The Zune requires you to log into a web site, setup an account, and download and install its software, then use that software to run any discovered updates on the device before you can even play around with its features. Then the Zune software automatically pulls in all the music it finds on your PC whether you want it imported or not. Fortunately it does not sync all that music to the device. Navigating the Zune software is also not as straight forward as competitors with clumsy menus and an ugly interface.

Like the Master of all mp3 players (Apple's iPod) the Zune is slightly overpriced compared to other solid devices like those offered by SanDisk. But Apple and Microsoft both have the clout to draw the big $$ logging a history of good products. The radio feature is certainly an advantage over the iPod, but the Zune falls short on design, ease of use, and software (i.e. iTunes vs. Zune). For the price I would lean toward the Apple gear or go for a SanDisk to save a few $$. If you really hate Apple, or simply love Microsoft, the Zune will likely satisfy your needs.

I bought this mp3 player 2 weeks ago and was immediately impressed with the number of features it has, sound quality, easy operation and very good sofware for the PC, download music, videos, etc.

The zune I bought was black and a 4 gig. I loved it wasy better than an i pod becasue you can send and share music with nearby other zunes. It also has a bulit in radio. Its just was better than the ipod and way less expensive!

In the past, I have always stuck with Apple and had an Ipod of some sort. A friend of mine recommended the Zune to me, and I must say that buying one was one of the best decisions I've made in a while. The Zune program is amazing and easy to use. The fact that the Zune I bought from this particular seller is in EXCELLENT condition makes me that much more excited about it. Thanks a lot :)

The Zune devices are the best mp3 players I have ever owned!!! I started out with the original 30 GB and feel in love!!! I just purchased my second Zune (4 GB). This is the best investment in music you can make! Zune’s are very user friendly and I definitely recommend them!!! Get the Zune pass….It makes owning a Zune even better!!!!

Well first off its built pretty solid as I've dropped it a few times. The radio function is a cool idea but reception isn't to great. It would be a lot nicer if it was compatible with WMP 11!!! Other than that it does its job.. and its easy to use. This thing is cheaper than buying an ipod so I'll recommend it to anyone looking for a cheaper option with the same quality

I Love it, It just feel alot higher in quality than my ipod Nano. The Zune store is much easier to use, and is not as much a drain on your computer's resources. The touch pad is much easier to use, unlike the ipod's circle (which I always thought was a nuicance). The price is also a bit more affordable than the ipods, and the accessories are cheaper and of much higher quality as well. I have had my zune for over a year with no problems and am buying a second for use in my car because this product has left me very satisfied.

I BOUGHT THIS AS A SUPLEMENT TO MY IPOD TOUCH, I REALLY DIDNT LIKE BRINGING MY TOUCH EVERYWHERE SO I BOUGHT THIS. THE SOFTWARE IS HARD TO USE AND THE TRACK PAD IS VERY DIFFICULT AND IT DOESNT WORK WITH MACS AT ALL. IWISH I JUST BOUGHT ONE OF THE NEW NANOS INSTEAD OF THIS.

The Zune 4GB is a vast improvement of the first Zune line. Though it isn't quite there yet. The controls need to be ironed out, but overall, if you're looking for a great priced "almost-ipod nano", here's your perfect candidate. And for Zune fans, this is a must.

My son loves this mp3 player. It is exactly what he wanted. The features on this MP3 are real easy to use. Downloading the software from Zune is easy and transfering files from my music on my laptop was extremely easy. Parents should not be afraid of using this as a graduation gift or birthday present.

I think Zune's are awesome! Its the customer support that lacks! My 30GB broke and they said they would fix it for $130. I was not doing that...So I am buying another one. ITs smaller and wont hold as many songs but I am not worried. I just need one to work out with and didnt have $100+ to buy a new one.

I bought this for my mentally handicapped sister. She loves music and has many CDs. She can now listen music anytime that she likes. This has been a big hit and she loves it.
