good movie, just as i had remembered it,,, saw movie originally in 1978-79, loved it then,,,, then later comes the zorros with antonio banderas.... still made me think of the zorro with alain delon.... found it on ebay.... was very satisfied with it. thank you

Best Zorro Ever - but too bad it is abridged on DVD :-(
) This was probably the best Zorro movie ever made. There was humor, sexiness, fun, emotional drama, ... it was terrific. The characters were great, the music was fun. I adore this movie!! Alain Delon was a very sexy heart-throb when it was made, and he is just as sexy to watch now.
The PROBLEM is, and this is why I don't give it an Excellent rating.... they cropped and chopped the DVD. I have no idea why and have tried to find out. I tried contacting the distributor and tried to reach the current manufacturer, but with no luck.
As indicated on IMDB movie database, the original movie was 124 minutes long. The DVD is only 87 minutes long. So, the DVD is missing 37 minutes of the movie. They deleted a bunch of good stuff and none of the DVDs even say that they are abridged or missing stuff.
I recorded it from TV back in the 70's when it was originally on and that VHS tape is now one of my most precious possessions. I bought the DVD gladly, and I was crushed to find out it was not the full, real, deal. It is nice to have a clear digital image of the movie, but quite frankly, I never watch the disk ... I still just watch the uncut VHS.
