Zoo Tycoon (PC Games, 2001)

I got the game and looked at the box and thought it would be good. It is really ultra lame!!! I don't know how they sell these games and people like them becuase this game made me faint!!! All you do is watch animals walk in circles and eat some food. WOW, I'm sooo amused. Their is no point to this game except to teach you that some people can't make good games. The only fun thing is let the lions loose throughout the park. ROAR!!! This game makes the good tycoon games look bad. If I was you then I would suggest staying away from the game:) Thanks for viewing my guide!!!

This game is above excellent. It is the best computer game we ever owned. My daughter is an animal lover and this is the first Simm's game we ever tried. She gets to open up her own zoo from a big list of areas and can put in fence and pick the animals she wants in her zoo and picks the concession stands, gift shops etc for the people that visit the zoo and then it's really challenging to keep the people and animals happy throughout the game. My wife gets carried away playing it too.

I bought this game for my son who's 13 yrs. old and he just loves as you get to care for animals and purchase items needed in order to care for the animal as well as hiring enough zoo keepers to maintain things within the zoo. Also helps kids to manage their money. This is a great game for kids 2nd or 3rd grade on up. This is a great game!

Once I got the hang of this, it wasnt bad. It was kind of fun, but you really have to stay on top of things to keep all the animals happy. Whew! It will keep you busy

I used to have this game before with all the add ons ( dino zoo, marine world ) but due to changing computers and lossing the cds, I had to start over again, bought this and same as before it is a really great game of building your own zoo, lots of animals, shops and food restaurants, before I was the only one that played it, now with an 8 year old daughter and a 5 y/o sister that follows here EVERYWHERE they are starting playing also, they like it but still they do not understand that animals need people to take care of them so they ofter die, escape or scare people going to their zoo,lol they still like to see that ( people screaming and running away from a tiger ) I still need the add ons, you will be able to have more than 30 species of animals and more options of zoo lands, I dont have any cons with this game, as you can see me I bought it again and I keep playing it when I am bored and need my mind somewhere else... (away from cooking, cleaning,taking care of the children, helping with homework, etc.. ) I play at night and think about what animal I am going to buy next. I'll give A++ to this game.

My 5 year old grandson plays the game. It teaches him how to follow instructions and to take animal care serious. All children needs to be supervised. He doesn't read yet but has learned to memorize certain sentences.

My 9 year old loves this game. It encourages him to use his imagination, in designing his "dream" zoo. And it teaches him that there are steps to complete in order to build a successful one. Doing things the easy way might be fast, but won't hold up very long! The animals become unhappy, and get ill, etc., and you have to start all over again.

I ourchased this game for my 12-year old daughter, who had played with other Tycoon game before. She loves playing with these games. As a parent I like them because they are fun as well as educational. She can build a zoo and run it like a business.

Although Zoo Tycoon 2 is better, this is a great game too. When one child is hogging the computer, the other one can play this on the older computer, which won't play Zoo Tycoon 2. Very fun game.

I do like the Zoo Tycoo DVD game, it was my gift to my daughter's graduation
from elementary school.

I love the game.It is alot of fun. My daughter plays it everyday for hours. It's in great shape never been opened. Great product. Fast delivery. Perfect 10.

It's kind of hard to get started and it takes quite a bit of time, but if you have time to play it it really is a lot of fun. It very challenging to keep everything happy at the same time and keep your zoo clean too. It's fun for anyone who likes strategy games that aren't too serious (that's me) =)! It's fun!

very good game! very long lasting apperal. fun to play and the expansion packs make it even better. strongly suggest to people who like other tycoon games.

Great learning program although many may buy it for the fun. Teaches about business, animals, and strategy. A great buy!

I have bought this game in the stores for my kids, needless to say it doesnt work anymore. It doesnt work cause it was overplayed. The best game i've seen ever for kids and guess what there is no fighting. Microsoft has a big winner in our family. Bought zoo tycoon 2, and wish i could have taken it back there was no comparison.

When my granddaughter visited us recently,she used my "Zoo Tycoon" game,which we keep on hand for our other grandchildren. She was so interested in it that we dicided to give her one of her own. The original PC game was unavailable in the local stores so we purchassed one on E-bay for her 9th birthday. She has to be forceably taken away from her PC for meals and bedtime. She is having fun and learning at the same time.

A great game! You keep adding what you want to it to keep up the zoo. i.e.: Add certain trees for certain animals. Give the animals what they want and keep them happy. That seems to be the object of the game: Keepng the animals fed and happy.

I know this well, as one of the best computer games for young people. Thanks for the possibility to buy it and write a review.

I really like Rollercoaster Tycoon & I loved animals so I tried a Zoo Tycoon demo. It was great. My biggest problem has been not going to bed when I should because I get too involved in building a zoo. :)

Had to install an automatic update to allow the game to resume from pause mode after a saved game load.
