this book has a wealth of knowledge for the novice bike wrench. however, i only found a few useful things in it because i have a lot of experience with bikes already. i wish it gave pro tips in it, but if it did, i suppose bike shops would have less business because everyone would know their secrets! overall, good, reliable information on the newer stuff on the market. covers some of the older technology as well. this book will teach you how to build and maintain your bike. good choice!

Great for the beginner MTB/Downhill rider.Great descriptive instructions and pictures for supporting material. My son learned alot about the maintenance of mountain bikes and will find it great for a reference as he begins a new sport.
