Zen In The Art Of Archery by Eugen Herrigel (2005)

This is the best "getting started in Zen" book that I have read/listened to as of this date! Herrigel, in his easy to understand manner, teaches the student how to become "one with the arrow" and eventually "one with all things".
I originally bought this book on CD after having read the paperback because I'm am more of an auditory learner than a visual one. I caught so many things that I had missed while reading and I've been able to apply his teachings in my everyday life.
If you are interested in Zen or would like to know more about how to achieve "oneness" then this is the book for you. Granted, this audio book doesn't fully explain all the nuances of the Zen philosophy, but it is most certainly a great beginning point. If you are at all like me then it will only make you hunger for more.
I do advise anyone who purchases this book on CD to allow time to listen to it when you will not be distracted by other things. You really need to focus on what Herrigel is saying in order to learn the basic Zen principle. Scoot this book over to your MP3 player and listen while relaxing in your easy chair or taking your daily constitutional. You won't be disappointed!
