I have two of the thermal at work. We print about 100 shipping labels a day on average. We print UPS labels and go through a whole roll in a week.
The most I ever printed was 700 labels in one sitting. During that printing
the labels spitted out fast and precisely without skipping a beat.
I would say about 30 labels per minute.
Truly amazing simple design that just never quits.
About once a month we wipe the printer head and printing area with alcohol.
Other than that is requires zero maintenance.
With the right printing template on your PC, we used it to print warning labels, product descriptions and just about anything that required a print on sticker type of deal. I wouldnt hesitate to buy another one. So what are you waiting for BUY IT NOW!!

Was looking for a thermal label printer to facilitate printing of UPS labels for the company. This printer is excellent in terms of ease of use, loading and print quality. Anyone looking for a great UPS printing solution should look toward the Zebra 2844

  SIMPLIFY YOUR EBAY SHIPPING
Review created: 07/03/07

TIRED OF CUT AND PASTE, LICK AND STICK LABELS? THEN BUY A ZEBRA 2844 ON EBAY!

As your volume increases so does your number of labels. There is a point in time you will need to resort to the more automated label processing and printing SYSTEM. ALL of the shippers from FedEx, UPS, DHL and USPS all have a way to print 4" X 6" selfstick labels. In each case the UNIVERSAL PRINTER IS THE ZEBRA 2844 THERMAL LABEL PRINTER.

Whether you print your labels one at a time or batch them all at once the ZEBRA 2844 is the printer that all carriers and their software support. In fact, if your volume is high enough they will even give you the printer and scale FREE!!

The Zebra 2844 is easy to setup and easy to use. I recommend using the labels with the tab at the bottom. The tab allows you a small label with the price and tracking number to attach to your documentation. The tab labels are available through EBAY and FedEx and maybe other shippers too but I'm not sure which ones.

FIRST, install the ZEBRA 2844 on your computer and setup the printer the way you want for your computer.

SECOND, install your shippers software for printing labels and set the parameters to match your printer setup on your computer.

THIRD, select a shipper and setup an account with them. If you want to use the Paypal checkout you will need to setup your Paypal account to print your labels on your new Zebra 2844. NOTE: Some shippers like UPS and FedEx will supply your labels FREE!

THE ZEBRA 2844 is fast and produces labels that are easy to read that you just peel and stick your labels on your outgoing packages. Saves a lot of time and frustration.

The ZEBRA 2844 is your next step in your office automation.

  One great little printer!
Review created: 02/08/08

When I first heard of this printer I really couldn t see why I should use it to replace my inkjet. I mean the inkjet worked pretty good though it only printed on regular typewriter sheets. I do hate buying printer ink though.
I decided to try the Zebra on the advice of network friend who told me I would love it but didnt really give me solid reasons why.
I went for it on the basis of it using 4 x 6 labels instead of the larger sheets of paper.
Man, why did I ever hesitate! This printer is fast and uses NO printer ink. Its the thermal type so I suppose it burns the print into the label. Plus the labels being in a roll make it easier to handle after the printing. Before a label might fall on the floor or get under something on my shipping table.
I further love the small size of the label and the printer too. The printer is only a little bigger than the label! Compared to the footprint of a normal printer this thing is tiny. Can sit it anywhere.
I like also that its USB driven or Parallel cord driven.
Loading the label roll is the easiest thing too. Pop it in and lay the edge of the paper out the front of the printer and close the top. It finds the next label seam by itself and you are ready to rock! Er, print.
If you print a lot through USPS or Fedex I understand you can even get labels free.
This is a space saving, time saving, ink saving, label saving, great little machine.

Why The Zebra LP 2844 Printer Is the Best One EVER!!!!!

The zebra thermal label printer is one of the best printers that I have ever used. It has a small footprint, never breaks and uses no ink. The labels are very easy to find and available for free from UPS and FEDEX for shipping. One night I printed over 250 address labels and the machine even has a feature that lets you print in one continuous feed or will print one label at a time, perfectly quiet and smudge proof. I just cannot say enough good things about this printer.

Nice printer for the job - sm form factor & gd quality
Review created: 03/31/08

This is a thermal label printer. First, it has small form factor, i.e. space saving. Second, it is a thermal printer that means no ink or toner is needed. The print quality is good/decent. It is well suitable for printing paypal shipping label and many other bar code labels. When u buy it, make sure you get the one with USB port. Some of the older model do not have USB port (only parallel port). Some sellers may sell this unit with a software CD. Well, the software can be downloaded directly from www.zebra.com website though (at least the driver). The only downside is that it does support only MS windows environment. If u need to run it with Mac OS X, you need to get parallels or some other windows VM software. -GearPool

A workhorse in the business shipping world. Prints like a champ and keeps on going. I use a few of these and they have all held up very well. Lots of variety in label usage and if you have a UPS or FedEx shipping station you can't go wrong.

WOW- have barcode printers come a long way. I'm used to the big old bulky fifty pound (boat-anchor) printers. This takes very little space, easy to run and setup, and uses reasonable priced thermal labels. If you want a nice shipping label printer this would be a great investment.

If you do any amount of volume sales on ebay, this is the printer for you! In the long run you will save lots of money and time by not having to buy ink & labels. This printer never has to have an ink replaced. It is super fast, printing your labels out in seconds. The labels are also MUCH cheaper than inkjet labels. If you have a UPS account they will even send you free labels!
This printer gets a 5 out of 5 from me!

Best Printer for the money ... Zebra 2844
Review created: 05/09/07

This is the best label printer I have ever used in my business. It never fails, takes up very little space, and the only maintenance required is to wipe down the print head area with the thermal printer clean penn or an alcohol base cotton Q tip. I use is for UPS, Fed EX, and stamps.com. Perfect labels every time

Bellaboutiqueshop review of the Zebra LP 2844 Printer

This is an excellent product thus far. Makes shipping with Endicia a breeze. I mainly bought this for the International shipping as we already were using a Pitney Bowes LPS-1 for all our domestic shipping. I love the fact that this printer was very easy to setup and get started shipping right away. Also, the larger roll allows for a lot of shipping labels which lowers our shipping cost per item. I would recommend to anyone looking for a thermal printer. They only drawback to this item would probably be its price. There are other smaller, less expensive printers that will handle domestic just fine however they will usually not allow for the larger labels which international customs forms require. I decided to buy this printer, like I said, to reduce costs associated with our international shipping. Again, I would highly recommend this printer if you have the money.

Zebra Desktop LP 2844 Thermal Label Printer
Review created: 11/10/09

I am very impressed with this product. I bought it used. It was a year old which any seller can tell you from the label on the machine. The item uses labels that are inexpensive and there is no wasting ink from my office printer. Often with my office inkjet printer I had to cover the label with tape to protect the label from smearing in the weather. This burns the image into the label thermally and there is no smearing to worry about. It works well with stamps.com and with usps.com. It is a bit difficult to understand set up directions for certain programs. My seller was able to help me over the phone and he set it right up without any issues. Be sure you are purchasing from a seller with knowledge of this item and the mail program you are using. This is a 5 star product!

I love this thing for making labels. Peel and Stick!

I love this thing for making labels. Peel and Stick! It sure beats using a regular printer with peel and stick labels and also the time switching to different kinds of paper for printing. Simplified my life, I use this for my labels and a regular printer for invoices. Nice and Fast and No More Switching Paper Types. Oh yeah and the labels are nice and small. Work with UPS, FedEx, and USPS. Love It!

  Great Label Printer
Review created: 10/06/09

I've purchased several of these units over the past couple of years and they all run like work horses. They old ones ran forever except it used a parallel port and most new computer don't even have parallel anymore... Either way the old and the new are equally well made.

Best thing I have done for my business this year.
Review created: 09/02/09

I am mad at myself because I did not get one sooner. This machine will save us thousands in ink alone. It is small so it is very easy to fit in a tight spot. We print about 1200 labels a month and this handles that volume without any problems. It is made to do a lot more than that. The only trouble I had with this machine is the original setup. It is not friendly if you have vista 64 bit. Overall we are very happy with this printer.
