Zathura (2006, DVD)

When these kids start playing a magic game, all types of wierd stuff happens!!! Thier house is in space, and thier robot is malfunctioning....its crazy! Much like Jumanji, the game controls what happens in a twisted reality that is Zathura!!!!! I had seen the movie before and I thought it is a mix of Jumanji theme yet has so much more interesting details...a great movie to see....I love this movie.

Older movies are hard to find in the video stores, eBay was the right venue to find it and I did. Very happy to have found it cause the kids like to watch it many times a month

This is a wonderful family film with a great message. I have 4 boys, ages 7, 6, 4 and 6 months and we can all sit down and watch this together. Nice movie that can help kids with sibling rivalry as well.

My Daughter is infactuated by this movie she has watched it now at least 50 times. I watched it with her finally it is a good kids movie and will keep them entertained for quite some time. The extras on the DVD are really cool as to how they made hte movie.

The movie is very creative, but I would not recommend for kids under the age of 10. It is a little scary, has one or two choice words. Other then that it is a good movie that should be watched with super vision.

One of the main themes is sibling rivalry. I like how it was resolved here. Even gave my kids food for thought. The movie stays away from computer generated special effects which makes for a different look and feel. Some great plot twists and great double meanings of some dialogue that you don't catch until the 3rd or 4th time through, which makes it more fun when mom and dad are subjected to multiple viewings.....

This was very intense and exciting. Had a great story line. All kids should watch this. Also, all adults should watch it also. If you have a sibling I know you have at one time or another had the same feelings. I would advise all to watch this one.

I bought this movie for my kids, somewhat similar to jumanji. All my kids love this movie "Zathura", getting them more energetic and active.

This is a delightful modern day Jumanji. Same concept, with the game leading the actors on wild adventures. This is one of my daughter's favorite movies now, and I find myself watching it with her every time!

This movie is a good story of both fantasy and family. Would recommend this title. It does have a few scary scenes. Very well done.

the kids loved this movie on t.v. decided to buy it since they wanted to watch it constantly. the kids love it because they feel like they are on a space adventure, it kept there minds entertained rather than cartoons do.

I bought this movie for my son (age 8). He and his little brother (age 4) love this movie because it's definitely geared towards their age bracket. If you liked "Jumanji", you'll probably like this movie because it has the same essence except it involves outer space instead of 'the jungle'. (Only thing is that Jumanji seemed to have a little more depth in it's tale and better special effects.)
I bought "Zathura" particularly because my son kept requesting it at the store and I found a better deal online. I'd say it's definitely a 'kid movie', and it's a good movie to have as part of your 'kid collection'. My kids are happy with it - so as a parent, so am I!

I loved this movie. It's a cute, exciting movie that the whole family will love. We've watched it time and time again. I highly recommend it. I bought the movie for when the grandkids come to stay the night. We put out blankets on the floor, pop some popcorn and turn out the lights and have a movie night.

This is a very good movie adaptation from a good book. Minus the two minor curse words, this is a nice family, fun movie. If you like sci-fi, you'll get a luke-warm feeling from this movie but a very heart warming ending. The two young leads are great as the two brothers finally coming together to work out a difficult situation. Mix in the clever Dax Shepard and the beautiful Kristen Stewart, and you have a family favorite. I highly recommend Zathura and give it a "take-it-all-now" rating of 4 out of 5! I enjoyed the movie and the characters. I don't feel it was as excellant as Jumangi, but would watch it over again. I'm glad I purchased the dvd as part of my collection of movies.

This is a great movie for the whole family to watch. It lets the adults feel like kids for just a little while. Makes you want to play the game and wish it was for real. My son loved watching it on pay per view, so we had to get it.

Good Kid Show. There was one profanity at the very beginning of the show when one of the brothers called his other brother a "DICK". The show didn't need to have this word in the movie at all. I don't want to have to explain to my kid why calling someone a "DICK" when you are mad isn't a good idea at his young age. Otherwise it was fun adventure for kids.

I saw the movie in the theatre and liked it a lot. It's worth seeing more than once, so I bought it. It's great for kids, especially showing cooperation with each other. It's kind of science fiction but a really different story.
See it. Enjoy it.

This has become a favorite for my kids. There is something for all ages. Even my 15 year old loved it. The effects are great and the lesson on working together is one most of our kids need to learn.

Best so far of Dax Shepard movies. A great intro to Dax Shepard let alone a great movie for the family. High adventure, excitement, mystery, suspense, humor, great plot, and Dax the astronaut. Anyone who doesn't like this movie is set on being miserable! It's just plain fun and one you want to watch over and over and over again. The moral to the story is unexpected and kicks butt... After watching this movie I need to ask Dax Shepard to marry me!

Zathura is a great family movie, it is funny and exciting but teaches a lesson at the same time. This movie will hold the attention of adults and children alike.

DVD's are a great value on eBay. Quality is like new, the only issue is how items are shipped by sellers. This can be a 2 day wait or a 28 day wait, depending on their shipping proceedures. My only wish is that I could have a choice of shipping methods on this item, as it took nearly 3 weeks to arrive by parcel post. My shipping cost could have covered Priority Mail and been here in 3 days! Many sellers do offer accerated shipping at additional cost to buyers, which I usually choose.
