Zanac (Nintendo, 1987)

Ready for a shoot'em up that is different from all the rest? How about one that has artificial intelligence? This game is hard. It plays and adjusts itself according to your skills. And depending on the weapons you are using it will throw different kinds of enemies at you. The unpredictability of the enemies creates an awesome challenge, there are no patterns to memorize. It plays different every time you have a go at it. The control is perfect and you will keep coming back for more. And when you get to an area boss, you have a time limit to defeat it. If you fail defeating it within the time limit, you cannot enter the next level. Zanac is a vertical scrolling arcade type shooter with a gameplay that can become frantic real fast. The graphics are simple but good with a nice musical score. This game is addicting for anyone that loves a good retro NES shooter with a different flare. I rate this as one of the top NES space shooters.
