Yours, Mine, & Ours (2006, DVD)

Boy if you want a hilarious movie for a stormy winter night, this is the one to get. While we absolutely loved the first movie with Lucille Ball moviemakers did a great job in creating a 21st century version of a well-loved story. The setting for this remake was extraordinary and the lighthouse reconstruction was a stroke of genious.
As the mother of a extra-large family I can relate one hundred percent to the mishaps, joys, and blunders this couple makes throughout the movie. Most families with this amount of children would probably not live as comfortably as they seem to be, but it is Hollywood. If that were reality, there would be no reason to watch this movie. As such a person has to settle down in their little house and just escape into a world where life like this is a possiblity. And if that isn't what family movies are for, pray tell I have missed the reason for watching.
Quaid and Russow together are wonderful and spontaneous. You can see the attraction between them immediately and just sit back and lose yourself in their wonderful love story. As the antics of the children play out a person is amused to see the bridge between the families building even if they are trying to tear mom and dad apart. The comradrie between the kids is great. The scenes with the housekeeper are absolutely hilarious. There that word is again and it is the best one to describe this movie--hilarious.
