This book was purchased because my granddaughter's school uses this book for it's curriculum. It helps my daughter prepare her daughter for her schoolwork and it helps my daughter know what her daughter is learning.

) I really wanted this book because I think that there are things that my child might not be learning in a public school setting and I just wanted to be able to reinforce what I think that my child should know with what they are teaching him in public school. I wish there was an updated version of it, but I think that this will do.

) As a homeschooling parent, I bought this book as an aid in covering all the bases. It covered an amazing breadth and depth of information, and was an invaluable tool as we wrapped up the year and prepared for standardized testing. The literary synopses were great and fun for my child. I was surprised that so many of the common sayings and their meanings were not clear yet for her, and enjoyed discussing them together. The information is presented in such a way that we could read it while waiting for doctor/music/other appointments. I highly recommend this book for any parent, homeschooling or traditional schooling, to review for and with your child. What a pleasure not only to realize how much they have learned, but to discover new things with them as well!
