The book has some good basic common sense in it. However, smiling at horses? I'm not sure they learn to smile back. It a very good beginner book which is why I got it for my other half. If he reads it he might learn things he is not willing to learn from me. s

It's a good book for horse people to help understand what may be causing their horse to act the way it does. It may not solve all things, but it is a good start. We all can use it at one time or another. Just like all books on horses, it doesn't tell you everything you may need for your horse. It's a good guide. Since all horses react differently at times, this will give you an idea to help, your horse. I bought it because I work with a lot of horses and run into different situations. Any information on horses is always a help
