Your Best Life Now by Joel Osteen (2004, Abridged, Compact Disc)

Your Best Life Now is Texan mega-church pastor Joel Osteen's effort to encourage Christians to lead more godly lives. His advice is more practical than spiritual (for example, it is more about how to behave than how to pray) and the book is certainly not loaded with Scripture references. However, anyone who follows Osteen's advice will not be led astray. Learning not to procrastinate, to forgive those who have hurt us and to speak and think on "lovely things" are behaviors we could all probably use more of in our lives. However, I would caution all who truly want to deepen their walk with the Lord to pursue sound biblical teachings and Christian fellowship to progress along the path. Osteen's Southern accent is easy to listen to and the book is made interesting with many personal anecdotes. Overall, this is an enjoyable audio book and a good starting point for Christians seeking more.
