) This book and accompanying CD is a fine introduction to orchestral music. It provides written information supplemented with aural examples of instruments from each instrument families, as well as examples of different composers and periods of music. It is easy to divide into small segments appropriate for children in the elementary grades.

) Having purchased this book and CD for my grandchildren recently, and knowing how much they enjoyed reading the book as well as listening to the orchestral interpretation, I decided to keep a copy on my coffee-table for my young piano students and their families.
Several families have, indeed, borrowed book and CD after which they decided to purchase the set for their own libraries. I think that this speaks volumes more than I could say!
