A childhood fav. of mine that I am now reading to my little one. Bird's on search of finding his mommy. What an adventure!!

Are you My Mother was my 1 year old's favorite book. She constantly chose to have me read it to her before bedtime and then wanted to take it with her in her crib. I refused to allow her, afraid she would tear it. I was happy to find this board book for her as she cannot tear it. i was disappointed however that the boardbook is not the same as the paper book. It's missing many details and events. It was not an exact replacement at all. She still likes the paper version much better. The plus about it is that it's much shorter, and sometimes I can get away with just reading the boardbook, (and get her to bed a little bit earlier.)

I bought this book for my 5 yr old daughter. Although this book is worthy to display the Dr Seuss logo it was not written by him. It is a fun book for beginner readers. The pictures are creative and imaginative. The story is easy to follow and understand by young children. I would highly recommend this book.

Not only did I love this book when I was a little girl but so have my 2 boys. Both when they were around 1 year old. Children need books read to them and this book they can relate to at this age. I changed the work mother in the book to mama because that's what my 1 year old knows. Every time the kitty or the boat come in to view he points to them. When the baby bird falls from the tree he brings his finger down the page. This was the first book I read to him and now it is his favorite. We call it his "mama book". Now he won't let me read any other book to him!!!
The con I have found is that P.D. Eastman didn't write too many books. I wish he had!!
