You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay (1999, Paperback)

Over the past 30 years I've been an avid reader of self-help books. All of them offered great insight but not a road map to where I needed to be. Each made me feel worse about not being able to cut past the 'crap' that lingered in my head for most of my 24 hour days.

At the suggestion of a fellow eBayer I ordered this book. And a miracle happened. After almost 60 years of hating ME I learned why I had those thoughts and FINALLY how to get rid of them. I immediately went on eBay and ordered two more, one for each of my children.

I knew I didn't fill their heads with negativity but I also knew they were not working to their full potential and that reading this book might explain who and where their 'negative stuff' came from.

So far my son has had a break through and recognizes his 1st grade teacher's voice as his negative mantra. My daughter is still working on the book but I have high hopes that both of them will benefit from it as much as I have. Now my husband...he's another story. I've given him a copy but I'm not sure that his mother's horribly negative tapes can be that easily erased. However, I still believe in miracles so perhaps one is in the making for him.

Buy the book. Read the book TWICE and then get on with the most amazing life you will ever find...your own!

I consider myself pretty intelligent but have problems with depression and "just things not going right for me" . I have read several self help books and been to counceling....all of which worked for a VERY short time, and left me with the same old questions. I didn't have much faith in the You Can Heal Your Life book by Louise Hay,until I started reading the first few pages......I was hooked because it truly made sense and was such a simple solution and easy read. It really is healing my life and I can't tell you how much better I feel. I am still reading it and doing the little assignments. I am so encourage and would recommend it to all who suffer from depression, feeling like a doormat, not knowing what your purpose is etc. etc. ......all who suffer know what I mean. Try it .....you have nothing to lose and everything to gain! It is the best 7.50 I have ever spent!! And its hardback to boot! I bought mine from sydshake who was a wonderful seller and fast shipper. This is a for insightful book especially for those who have a hard time of letting go of past hurts. It also helps you to relearn what you think or say to yourself and why you do or say the things you do to yourself.
Highly recommend this book.

The science behind this book is incredible and Louise Hay's writing style keeps your interest and is easy to understand. I would buy more of her books. She is an amazing woman.

A friend lent this book to me about 2 months ago and I loved it so much that I had to have my own copy. I started to read it again as soon as it arrived today. I was searching for affirmations on the internet while I was out of work to help lift my spirits. That is when my friend recommended that I read this book. It has helped me in so many ways. It is a very good book with beautiful illustrations and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a positive outlook and a fresh approach to life. It helped me sift through my past and to look forward toward a bright future. But most of all it taught me how to be happy with myself in the present.

I actually got angry when I started reading the book the first time because it made me take a good look at myself. It took me a couple of weeks before I could pick it up again and continue reading. I am thankful I didn't give up on it after the first few chapters, because I needed to take that good, hard look at myself and see where I was coming from...and now I see just how poorly I used to treat myself. My life is improving more and more each day and the author deserves a lot of the credit. The affirmations are magical. Enjoy the journey.

This author is easy to read and hits the nail on the head again and again. This book encompasses the ingredients of any other book you've read, however, it is in plain terms that you can identify with. She has a way of making me understand how simple healing my wounds can be and is. I cannot recommend this book enough! I think of it like a manual for my life... it's really very simple if we are willing to face our demons and ask them to leave all ready. Buy this book and share it with others! If we could all employ these principles the world would sure be a nice place full of people that liked themselves and didn't have to act out because of self hatred.

I had been in therapy many years, and this book helped me to move to the next level of understanding myself, my negative thoughts, and the potential for good within me. I would highly recommend this beautiful book to anyone, I regularly suggest it to my clients; and they have agreed with my assessment of You Can Heal Your Life by Louise H. Hay.

I had seen an earlier edition of "You Can Heal Your Life" at an alternative health program. Thinking it was a bit pricey, I checked ebay for comparison. Found this newer edition at a very reasonable price. Like the colorful, easy to read format with helpful guidance toward healing of the self via positive feelings and affirmations of self-worth. Makes a great case for how we feel about ourselves and others affecting our physical and emotional health. A great gift to yourself or someone else needing that positive pick-me-up. Highly recommend to anyone ready to take the plunge into alternative thinking about health and wellness. "Treatment" is free and non-invasive!

First I like the subject matter. The presentation and illustrations of the book, I had given this same edition to a friend and wanted to update my version of Louise' book
