Good instruction, but for beginners? Not really.

I liked the way it methodically and slowly went through each movement, then combined them into a dance. Each move is repeated the same number of times, but it flows well. It was easy to follow and if a person had any background in dance, it would be a good resource. But it isn't really "absolute beginner" material. It never talks about the importance of warmups or about not doing movements that don't feel OK. And the "percussive" style movements would actually be dangerous for someone who isn't in shape. It had good quality production and showed a lot of material in an approachable format, but I would say approach with caution unless you are a real dancer to begin with. I bought it as a supplement to a beginner's belly dance class I'm taking, but I wouldn't be able to use this until I had moved up, I would say, past the beginners level class of my instructor.
