Are You Being Served? - The Movie (DVD, 2002)

I love this movie so much!

The first half hour is like a regular episode of the show. From there, they all take a trip together. Mr Grainger traveling through security and on the plane is hilarious:

"Look at those people down there! They look like ants!"
"They are ants; we haven't taken off yet."

If you like the show, you'll love this movie.

Granted, some of the jokes and story lines are recycled from the show and the film quality isn't the best. But this is a classic film. If you like the show...you will love this movie!

The movie steps neatly into the footsteps of the beloved series.

I decided to buy Are U Being Served Cause the tv series is a hilliarous show. Great cast, all around one of the top 5 shows I have seen. I have always wanted the movie so I bought it and would recommend it to any one who loves are you being served. However it is not as good/ funny as the show but has it moments!!!!

I bought Are You Being Served?-The Movie because my daughter loves the British Comedy series Are You Being Served? that airs weekly on T.V. This show is a typical British comedy about a group of kookie characters who are employees in a department store. In the movie, this same cast of characters are sent off on a vacation paid for by the store while it is being remodeled. As expected, the movie is full of hilarious situations, raunchy jokes, and just plain craziness.

The movie was very funny if you like that kind of humor. The actors stayed true to their characters. Everyone seemed very familiar. However, the raunchy jokes were much worse in the movie than on T.V. and took alot away from my enjoyment of it.


If you like British Comedy and aren't wanting anything too intelligent, this movie might be just what you would enjoy.

BRINGS IN VARIOUS PARTS OF THE SERIES WHICH IS NICE. I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED THIS SERIES AND THIS MOVIE GIVES YOU A LONGER FORMAT TO WATCH. I HAVE HUNTES FOR THIS MOVIE FOR AWHILE. NICE JOB EBAY.

Watch the TV show - skip the movie! The movie simply lacks something, perhaps the laugh track on the TV show is missing

I bought the movie because I enjoyed the series on PBS. The movie was good but it was slow getting started to my thinking. I will watch it again anyway from time to time when TV gets to boring.

I am a huge,long time,fan of the original "Are You Being Served". I love just having the movie as a part of my collection. This way if ever I feel the need to re-visit the fabulous Mr.Humpries he's not far away. The story line does run a bit slow and they use many old jokes from the show. Over all, it is a good movie.

I loved the movie. I watched the show growing up on Pbs and when I found the movie went crazy. All the original cast members and it is hilarious. I recommend for all those who love the show!!!!!

I have always enjoyed the series Are You Being Served. So it only seemed natural to purchase the movie. It was full of the Are You Being Served Charmed. If you are fan you will enjoy this movie. The whole clan takes a holiday together and you can well imagine the pickles that they find themselves in.

I highly recommend this movie.

The clean sense of humor is terrific. I bought this since it was in excellent condition and available for a lower price than through mainstream suppliers. Buyer beware, shipping and handling can sometimes be either very reasonable or on the high side.

This is a great movie based off of the Are You Being Served Series. It is a very funny show, but the series are still the best. You just can't beat the gang at Grace Brothers.

WHEN THE FLOOR MUST BE REPLACED, EVERYBODY AGREES TO TAKE VACATION DURING THE REMODEL AT COMPANY DISCOUNT. IF YOU LIKED THE SERIES, YOU WILL BE WELL SERVED WITH THE MOVIE!

Enjoyed it, but lack of laugh track was an interesting change from the TV series. -----------------------------------------------------------------

I was disappointed in Are You Being Served?-The Movie. Being a long-time viewer of the 30 minute sitcoms, I expected much more than recycled jokes and old, tired lines from the past in a feature length movie. The movie's plot is pretty lame and gets more so as the movie progresses. The plot only serves as a vehicle to recycle what was funny once...long ago. This movie rates a C---.

I watched almost all of this series while it was on TV and it was a good series and this movie has some lack luster elements in it, and from my point of view lacks in taking an advantage to make a statement about the TV series. Hence, my 'good' rating.

If you are a fan of the British Comedy you will enjoy this movie.The movie takes place while the whole Grace Brothers crew is on Holiday. Adult themed comedy.

i watched the tv show on pbs and thought i would like the movie i didn't know there was one i laughed all through the movie we don't get it on pbs here now so now i can watch it the movie whwn i want

The movie does not come close to the TV series at all. Many of the skits are just rehashed from the series. The movie does not have the sharp edge humor that the series has. Buy it to complete your collection only. However, Miss Brahams looks her best in the movie.

Unfortunately taking the Are You Being Served cast out of the store isn't as successful as was hoped. The movie isn't too bad, but most of the jokes are replays of ones in the regular series. Also, without the audience to laugh and for the actors to play against, it isn't nearly as funny.

Unfortunately by taking the format out of the store and by increasing the length of the show it diminishes the humor and the characters' development.

However, it is always great to see the Grace Brothers Gang on more time.

I have been wanting the movie for awhile and sometimes when I get on ebay I can't think of what I was looking for or there are so many things to look at that I am not sure what I need or what I came in the first place for but I remebered that I wanted that and I searched for the best price for a new dvd and come up with a winner.

Funny and humorous British comedy. Well worth watching. The usual grace brothers antics with Mrs, Slocum and Mr. Humphries.
