This is one of my favorite Xanth novels, Piers Anthony did a great job on this one. I have been a long time fan of Xanth and I have read every Xanth novel up to and including Yon Ill Wind.
This book deals with the Demon X(AN)th, which is one of my favorite characters. Plenty of Anthony's trademark Puns throughout the book.
The Demon does not have the abilities and opportunities you would think he should, but it is due to a situtation which arises and controls the direction of this novel. I can not explain to much more on that topic lest I give up a huge part of the plot.
Overall all I loved this book. It is so interesting it makes it a very quick read.

) Only the masterful Piers Anthony could have come up with a dragon-headed donkey who couldn't speak, but was (in all reality) a demon! Another great Xanth novel!
