This book was a required textbook for my college class. It gives insight to the developmental stages of varying age groups. I think it is a wonderful resource book. It eliminates ours of research and at a glimpse you see full description of children: their types of play, academic abilities, motor skills, growth and learning patterns and much more. It is more than helpful... it's wonderful.

Excellent Parent Resource!
) I got more than I expected with this book. A teacher friend recommended it and I started reading it right away. It is a simple read but full of great detail and info on the mental and emotional development stages of ages 4-14. It helped me make sense of some of my children's actions and situations. I've been recommending it to all of my friends! Enjoy!

Yardsticks - An excellant teaching referenceExcellant book for educators, particularily students and substitute teachers. Written in a simple reference like manner and breaks down children's abilities mentally, physically and socially by age. Also lists proper curriculums by age group. You will refer to this book often! A keeper.
