Yamaha is pushing to make the RX-V665 (90W x 7) the new market leader. In addition to the features outlined above, the V665 includes Deep Color (30/36 bit) technology, 120Hz/24Hz Refresh Rates and Auto Lip-Sync compensation, which automatically (according to Yamaha) eliminates audio/video sync issues. Assignable amplifiers for bi-amping, powering presence speakers (back surround or front) or a second zone are included, as well as zone 2 on/off control from the front panel, remote in/out and programmable +12V trigger outputs. The RX-V665 is also Sirius/XM satellite radio ready with XM HD Surround powered by Neural Surround.

The new HDMI 4input 1 output are very nice. Either the "Scenes" are not as cool as they are supposed to be, or I haven't figured out how to use them yet.

The reason for purchasing this item was. #1 We had a Yamaha receiver that we liked before but would not work with the new HD TV so had to upgrade receiver. #2 We checked on prices at the stores and was more expensive then on bay.

Good pictures and sound.
Enjoy 3D sound with Cinema DSP mode. But, SB channels are not working with 3D mode.

GREAT TUNER!!I had the old model of this item and was extremely pleased. Then my wife and I lost our house in a fire and had to replace the house and try to replace the things inside. I bought this Yamaha RX V665 tuner to replace the previous tuner we had, and I have to say I am VERY pleased with the purchase. the features and power of this unit are incredible. I would definitely urge anyone looking for a surround tuner to purchase this unit for sure!!

RX-V765HDMI pass through (i never listen to sporting events with surround, only movies - so this was key) function is great. Compressed music format enhancer works well (not quite at CD quality, but im VERY picky). 2nd zone works well for speakers in backyard - note 2nd zone has to have analog hookup (red & white cables) only, not hdmi,dig.coax,or optical - kind of a bummer, but not too much. Overall, very happy with product -
