Great book. Don't want to give away any details but it will suck you into the story from page one! I purchased this book because I already had the others in the series and you can't purchase one without purchasing all the rest. Can't wait for this set to grow!

I love the way this book draws you in, and makes you really connect with the characters. This book also has helped alot in my own prayer life, and made me see things differently. I bought it because I have read all the others, and can't wait to read more.

  Thought provoking fiction!
Review created: 02/12/07

Love the elegant yet simple style of this author. She identifies with the rural woman who now finds herself in the middle class suburbs of the city. As she is forced to make relationships with others who are extremely different, the author opens the mind of the reader to view these same people and their differences. She does an excellant job of portraying the enhancements as well as the conflicts of various relationships. A powerful and timely book.

Fun and inspiring novels continue to charm

Although I don't usually read specifically Christian novels, Neta Jackson's "Yada Yada" series has really charmed me. I listened to the first book as an unabridged recording, and had to find the rest to know what happens next. The books are set in the present, and continue the story of 12 Chicago area women of different ethnic and economic backgrounds, who meet in prayer and support for one another. The stories are fun, realistic and believable, as busy working women and their families jugggle very familiar challenges.

This book series, "The Yada Yada Prayer Group", is one of the best Christian series I have ever read. It makes a connection with your heart from the very beginning and then hooks you by being able to find yourself in one of the many main characters. Each book takes the Christian walk to the next level in a very timely and mindful way. They each show a different place in the walk, and how to do the walk at a steady pace with the support of a true united body of believers, all from different demoninational backgrounds. This particular book, "The Yada Yada Prayer Group Gets Tough," is the latest in the series and couldn't have come at a better time for me personally as it addresses the spiritual warfare that goes on all around us each and every day whether we are aware of it or not. It shows the "Church" united in battle, through prayer, praise, worship, and action. I would suggest reading the series in order so the whole picture can come into focus in regards to the character growth, the personal and spiritual growth. It is a timely, well-written, call to arms for Christian women everywhere, and confirmation to me and the ones who recommended it to me, that the battle is heating up and coming to America, whether we are ready for it or not. Now is the time to get ready, to "Get Tough" in His Armor, His Spirit, and His Truth!!! Can't wait for the next one!

  LOVE IT! MUST READ!

Any Christian woman who loves to read and enjoys fiction will love this book. It could be anyone of us. There isn't any romance (I'm not into that)- the main character is a elementary school teacher and she is married with two teen children. She is challenged daily by different things and she turns to God in prayer for help. There is a student in her class that is a challenge for her- her son and husband have been asked to go to a white supremacy rally by a black Christian friend for support and they ask her to go and pray! These are some of the things that she is dealing with. She and her prayer group (that met at a Chicago Christian women's confrence) meet every so often to pray together and encourage each other. They are very different women and they all come from various backgrounds.

The challenge of finding the theif that robbed the prayer group a home and getting her early parole to praying with a dear sister that had an abortion when she was younger.

You must read the series! What a great read. This would be perfect for a Christian book club.
