Audiophile amp without killing your wallet

I may have gotten a great deal on this amp because the seller described it incorrectly in which he showed a picture of an Xtant A4004 and was actually selling an Xtant 404M. What can I say?...This amp retailed for over $700 brand new and it is built to last. The installer mentioned that he doesn't see amps built to this standard anymore and once installed we cranked it up and it sounded sweet...very open, clean and dynamic...not pinched at all. A very detailed and smooth sound without any overemphasis on any frequency range. In fact, "balanced" from highs to lows is how I would describe it. It plays loud enough and clear even at the farthest end of it's range. I paired it with an Xtant 301A monoblock sub amp and the combo with my 12" sub and MB Quart Q series components and it sounds awesome. This amp is also very adjustable but requires outboard modules (you have to buy seperately) for high pass, low pass, EQ duties. A true audiophile conceptualized amp. Balanced line ins and well-built power supplies. I wouldn't be surprised if this amp goes for another ten years. Doesn't heat up too much. If you want sound quality without the high price tag consider a used Xtant. Just be aware that it does not come with built in crossovers or fusing. You will need to set-up an outboard fuse or opt for a circuit breaker like I did. Thumbs up on this one.
