Some come with a hard drive and others dont. The hard drive is $100 more that one with out, but a mem card it self is about $60.00!!! Get one with a hard drive, becaus you will never have to buy a memory card!!!! you can do so much more with the HARD DRIVE!!!!!!! Review ID: 10000000000061415 Was this review helpful? The replacement lasted a month and the replacement after that was broken when it arrived. We are currently on our 4th Xbox in 2 years, and our 3rd replacement in 6 months If you are going to buy an Xbox 360 on Ebay make sure it's Brand New! If it's used at all you run the risk of someone selling a machine that is in the midst of failing. My first return worked for about a month off and on before it fully died. Yes Microsoft will send out a refurbished machine but my experiance has not been great with that program. In short make sure the 360 is new or don't bother. Are you buyer's asking the question as to whether the seller will give an immediate refund if they are unable to ship your / their Pre-Ordered xbox as advertised? I have 10 Xbox 360's premium systems Pre-Ordered through the various brick & mortar and online retailers. I've learned in the last couple of days that I probably won't receive even half of the units ordered due to a tremendous cut-back in initial unit allocations from Microsoft. Many bought_and Paid for eBay Presales are going to go unfulfilled. I hope eBay is ready to deal with the onslaught of complaints and buyer protection claims that are sure to follow! Think BEFORE you Leap! Make sure the seller actually has the items. Just because they have a Pre-Order receipt, this doesn't guarantee that they will actually receive the item for resale. First off lets discuss a bit of the specs for the Xbox 360 System and what they mean to you. The custom-designed Xbox 360 central processing unit (CPU) runs at a breakneck speed, thanks to its three separate core processors that clock in at 3.2 GHz each. In lamens terms this means that it techinically has 3 seperate Computers in the box! However it gets even sweater because each of these computer chips can do two tasks at once! So in doing the math of 3x2 you are looking at 6 chips running at 3.2 ghz...vrooom. Xbox 360 boasts a custom ATI graphics processor that clocks in at a blistering 500 MHz. If you want to get even more technical Xbox 360 can take advantage of more than four times as many polygons as the original Xbox® console, and more than four times the number of pixels per second. The GPU or Graphics chip in the Xbox 360 System is very cool. It has I believe 48 pixel pipes that are strictly free to calculate cool effects like water, clothing, grass bending or blowing in the wind. Not one graphics card on the market has as many pixel pipes as the GPU in the Xbox 360 does. The 512 MB of RAM in Xbox 360 is eight times more powerful than the original Xbox, in terms of simple arithmetic. The system RAM gives developers a unified memory architecture. Game creators decide how to partition it, and all of the hardware components can access the memory. This is going to lead to HIGH Definition or HD resolution on games. Most televisions are limited to 640 x 480 resolution, well now be prepared to 720i, 720p, 1080i resolution. Madden Football will have never looked better. Be sure to get yourself the xbox with 20 GB hard drive. The sheer amount of downloadable content that fits on such a hard drive is staggering, and now you can rip more music onto your hard drive and play your own tunes as a soundtrack in any Xbox 360 game! Dont forget to get yourself a few wireless controllers for you and your friends. Review ID: 10000000000055909 Was this review helpful? The display looks great, features are pretty cool, and it appealed to my geekness right from the first moment it powered up. The unit itself was simple to setup including the networking and even looking at the menus in HD found me saying "wow, that's awesome." The opening scenes of Call of Duty 2 were equally awesome. I've never been a huge fan of wireless controllers in general, I like wired connections because they're "guaranteed" but I think the Xbox controller may have convinced me to give up that old way of thinking. It was simple to use, the connection is really responsive, and I like that they provided the option to turn off the console when I turn off the controller. I played with the Live connection today (read below for my minor problems with initial setup) and was really impressed with the marketplace. I love downloading demos and think all systems should have this standard from now on... I know this will be a long term benefit. I already tried a new game I'll buy tomorrow. What about the negatives? The unit itself is meant to be cool looking and I do think it is better then the old Xbox design. The odd part about the unit is that it was pretty loud after running for a while, so much so that my wife is asking how often it is going to be running in the living room. Now I'm reading in different places that the units can overheat but mine has been good so far. The power supply is huge which I also find kind of annoying. Initial setup of Xbox Live was a bit of a pain. Too much typing on the controller and I'm going to look and see if I can do any of the setup from my PC as a work around. My problem was that I entered all this info only to find the Xbox didn't think it could connect to Live. There was no option to save my data (privacy / security was probably the reason) which was a hassle. I eventually got it to work but it was not as easy as it should have been. By the way- when I had the Xbox test my connection it found the internet no problem, so it wasn't an issue on my side. The last negative is the lack of backward compatibility. I didn't think it would bother me, I still have my old Xbox, but it is pretty annoying to have two machines sitting there when it should be one. All that said... On day 2 I played and played and it is a really sweet system. Time will tell when more games come out. The unit is amazing but game availability is going to make or brake this product.
