A lot of buildup to nothing

I love the X-files and so I was eager to see this movie. While having some loose ends from the show tied up was perfect, most of this movie fell rather flat to me. The movie was not that exciting (for X-files) and honestly the plot barely even felt like an X-file. More like an old Dragnet episode or something.
