Wyatt Earp (DVD, 2006)

This is a good movie about his life!! A differnt tale from Tombstone. Gene Hackman plays his dad and Kevin Costner plays Wyatt.. this is mor into his early years. Growing up and being a law man in Kansas. Very good movie for Wyatt Earp fans. Enjoy this movie i did!!

I was not really a Kevin Costner fan, though Field of Dreams is one of my favorite movies, I thought of Costner as a "ladies actor". Was I ever wrong on this one. He plays a great Wyatt, who after a meek and mild start in life, becomes a real bad ass! Closest historical film ever about Wyatt Earp from teenage years to retirement. BUT, what really makes this film is the SUPPORTING ROLE OF DENNIS QUAID AS DOC HOLIDAY. Besides being a bad ass himself, he is tangled up the a whore, has a drinking problem, has uncurable tuberculosis and an I don't give a sh*t attitude about life that really makes this movie. I had never gave much thought as to what Doc would act like in real life but, in my mind, Quaid could not be any closer. He plays the of Doc role 100%, right spot on, bullseye perfect. The "shootout at the OK Corral" which actually didn't happen at the OK, is also pretty close to factual. I would highly recommend and give 'er ★★★★★ 5 STARS!

I enjoyed this version of the Earp family and Doc Holiday, It portrayed Wyatt as more of a no BS "lawdog". It tells the story from the begining to the end. Doc didnt say "im your Huckleberry" none and is acually in his bio as being his fav saying. If you are to buy this I highly recomend buying tombstone as well.

kevin kosner did a great job and allot more factual stuff on the life and times of wyatt earp.I definetly enjoyed it next to tombstone its a much better movie

good history lesson on the Earp's just long and some spots to dry it would have been better Shorter and Faster

I especially love to see a movie about an area of the country we have spent time in and this one has the romanticism of cowboys and good old boys and bad guys and thieves. It is a part of our history and it is a good story done in cinemascope or whatever you want to call modern DVD's excellently put together with all the right elements for an enjoyable want to repeat the experience movie. Where's the popcorn?

This modern version of the old western is far better than what was available years ago. A must have for western collectors.

Great classic western movie. Makes you want to learn more about Wyatt Earp's life. Few scenes with blood, not good for younger children. I bought it because they just don't have enough good current western movies, and I had seen the movie before and liked it.

Superb western movie! Love the cast and they blend well together. The portrayal of Doc is awesome as a stand-alone character. Well done!!!

Great movie. We got it partly because of Curly Bill Broscius's part. He was a descendant. Very interesting.

A very good remake of the never ending story of Wyatt Earp. Somewhat slow in places. I like how this story touches on some of the Young Wyatt. How he became involved in being a Law Man. Costner is great as always. A must Have for the Western Fan.

I like historical movies, especially biographies. I have visited Tombstone Arizona and was fascinated with it's history

I bought the dvd Wyatt Earp,because in my opinion it is one of the best westerns I have ever watched.I am a lover of the old west history and think that Kevin Costner did an outstanding role playing Wyatt Earp in this movie,also Dennis Quaid out did himself protraying "Doc Holiday".I loved the movie,with the happy,sad,romantic and gun fighting scenes.There was nothing I did not like about this movie. All the people that love the old west movies and Wyatt Earp and the Earp brothers and their journey through life,this is a must see movie.Only the best movies do I watch twice,but this is one I have watched many times and enjoyed it each time.Great movie,had to add it to my collection.

First off, I am a Kevin Costner fan from my head to my feet.
Having said that, this movie makes the Wyatt Earp saga come alive
and with actors like Bill Pullman, Catherine O'Hara, Dennis Quaid, Gene Hackman, Isabella Rossellini, Jeff Fahey, JoBeth Williams, Kevin Costner, Mare Winningham, Mark Harmon, Michael Madsen, and Tom Sizemore it had to be good.
Equal with the movie Tombstone in quality & interest, yet both with their own dramatic and personal twist. Dennis Quaid was very good as Doc Holiday. Another movie on this era, Tombstone, was it's equal in entertainment value.If you like this era in history, you will enjoy this movie. PS Also take the time to watch The Quick and the Dead, with Sharon Stone. She shined in that cowboy movie. Wow, super ending!

Really great movie. Portrayed each character like I imagined them to be! I'm not a big huge freak on western movies but this one looks like a western but the whole plot isn't revolved around it. Kinda long so make sure kids are in bed if you want to see the whole thing! lol

I still have yet to receive this dvd. I have never had this problem and I have ordered several dvds from half.com. I wrote in asking about my order and was told they were having some personal difficulties but still yet to receive this dvd.

I bought this as a gift. I thought it was quite good but the receiver thought it was even better. Since I did not view this particular purchase it is difficult to provide more information. The price was good and delivery was timely.

I love this movie. It is one of my favorites. It got here fast and I am very pleased. I looked for it at my video stores and they don't have it. I didn't want to pay what the store was charging. It was priced very reasonably on e-bay. I will order more dvds in the future.
