This book was referred to me by one of my Professors in a Journalism program. I was so used to pulling BS easily in the past, but they were able to call me out on all of my attempts to pad my essays. I asked them for more advice on how to be successful in the academic program as well as on the field. That is when I was made aware of this book: On Writing Well by William Zinsser.
It is perfect for learning how to not just use the inverted triangle as a Writer, but also to remember that everyone is a reader and when we read items, we usually hope that the author gets straight to the point. It is very much about the simple ways to communicate effectively. I would re-recommend this book to anyone who struggles with writing or someone who is so used to the 5-paragraph expository essay that she cannot fathom applying all of her significant information (who, what, where, when, why, and how) into the initial paragraph of an assignment--let alone a proposed article to a major publication.
