Publisher's Note Hundreds of books have appeared recently on how to design new Web pages and jazz up existing Web sites with graphics, sounds, and links. But to date, no one has written on the real nemesis of the Web -- the English language. Effective web creation means much more than far-out videos, graphics and sounds -- it also means text that people will want to read. Writing for the Web combats this problem by offering sound principles that writers must bear in mind when composing for the Web as well as providing exercises to strengthen writing skills and eliminate bad habits.
