Writing Strands Level 3 by Dave Marks (1998, Paperback, Spiral)

The book is designed for mostly independent work by the student (with some teacher input and evaluation). Writing is broken down into small daily tasks that build on each other. The student is able to complete large writing projects without being overwhelmed, as they are only instructed to perform a small task each day. Great for the beginning writer!

I love this. My daughter will have a solid foundation for writing when she's done with this. This program is very structured but speaks to the child with a lot of humor and lightheartedness to make for an enjoyable lesson.

We have not used it yet. It was chosen as part of our curriculum and looks to be to the point and user friendly.

After having this recommended to me by a friend, I decided to try it out on my son who is a reluctant writer. Writing Strands is written with enough "kid humor" to keep his attention and is broken down into very manageable assignments. This has taken the drudgery out of writing assignments for my son and is also giving him a solid foundation in descriptive, well-structured writing. An excellent intro to writing. Thank you, Mr. Marks!

I love this book! Highly recommend! You can go as fast as you like thru it or as slow giving more time to detail. Each lesson builds zealousness in writing. The writer gives a better visual picture .
