The World's Religions by Huston Smith (1991, Paperback, Revised: Reprint)

I had to use this book for a college course, and ended up keeping the book afterward! IT WAS THAT GOOD!! I really learned a lot from this book, and you will too if you are any little bit intereted in the religions of the world.

Rarely is one inclined to return to a college textbook after graduation. Such is not the case with Houston Smith’s “The World’s Religions.” Smith tackles his subject matter with the inquisitiveness of the most eager student, yet conveys his ideas in a fashion that is so accessible to nearly any reader. Nor does Smith stick nearly to analyzing the Big Three (Christianity, Judaism and Islam); instead, he delves into the full gamete of religious belief, shedding light on Eastern religions like Buddhism and Hinduism as well as many Japanese folk religions and philosophies.

If ever there was a definitive overview of religion, this is it.

I bought it because I needed it for my religion class and I love the book. I do recommand others to buy it. It was in good condition.

I like this book because it talks about all the religions in the world. The author try to connect all religion beliefs with one another. i bought this book for my religion course.

You can find thousands of Houston Smith's classic all over e-bay, e-bay's half and Amazon, prices here were just a bit cheaper than everywhere else, great condition for the price too!

I was very pleased with the book and the time I received it. I would definitely order again form this place.

My philosophy said this book was interesting. It was going to be a required reading, but the semester is over next week. I'll read it. It will be interesting.

Personal curiousity. A family member recommended the book and I like reading about theology. It is an easy read book and would recommend it to many people. It is simply written.

I ordered this book around the first or seconnd week of August and still have not recieved it or recieved a refund.

If you want to learn about the world's religions, this is the book to read. It talks about all the ajor religion in depth and was very helpful to me.

It's been pleasure to deal with.The only thing that bothered me was the time of mailing it. Could have been faster.

The author takes an unbiased stance as he describes the world's most practiced religions. I have yet to make it all the way through, but I can't wait to read it all.
