Since reading Pillars I wanted to try World Without End on audio. That turned out to be 20 fantastic car rides. Narrator John Lee kept me glued to my seat in the parking lot. Nice way to start my first audio book.

As usual, Ken Follett does his historical homework. This is somewhat of a sequel to Pillars of the Earth. This looks at the town of Kingsbridge and its occupants after the cathedral has been established. It makes for fascinating reading. His development of the characters, both good and evil, always builds a better understanding of the times and their impact on human nature.
I have enjoyed many of his books.

) Great audio book. Narrator was very good with many different voices for the multitude of characters. I tried to read this book but was failing miserably time-wise so I bought this audio and I throughly enjoyed listening every day right to the finish where I was disappointed to have it end. If you liked Pillars of the earth, you will like this one as well.

World Without EndI loved Pillars of the Earth. In fact I read it twice. I was very much looking forward to listening to its sequel on my drive half way across the country. I have to say I was disappointed. It was really all of the same characters with new names and new bodies getting into the same types of situations as in Pillars.It definitely was a sequel and I suppose I shouldn't complain in that regard.I guess I expected that there would be some newness to it instead of more of the same.
