I would buy anything James Howard Kunstler writes. I completely agree with him on peak oil and its consequences.

Excellent post-apocalptic novel centered in a small town follwing
multiple societal catastrophies including oil shortages
disease and terrorism.
The author writes in an easy readable style. Character
developement is not omitted, but the book moves at quick
pace as the survivors cope and attempt to become comfortable
in their new world.

Enjoyed immensely-

Ever wonder what would happen if we lost our technology, or our ability to build advanced machines and buildings? Kuntsler shows us one of the possibilities-society reverting to the late 1800's style of living, including adopting old mores and values. I found this novel to be particularly interesting, well written and thought out, as well as hard to put down. Not your usual post-Holocaust type of writing.
