Work of Art
Much like the rest of his catolog, Blut Aus Nord has always chose to experiment with the black metal sound in a very abstract way . . . and that's exactly what this album is about. It is a beautiful but very abstract piece of art for the post black metal age. I urge anyone interested in black metal to check it out. If you are new to this artist, my advice is to start from the beginning debut, Ultima Thule, and work forward. To understand the feel for this disc, I would strongly suggest listening straight through multiple times, but a few highlights are The Choir of the Dead, Our Blessed Frozen Cells, and Procession of the Dead Clowns. Amazing all around.
