Wonder Woman - The Complete First Season (DVD, 2004, 3-Disc Set)

I loved WW as a kid so when my 3yr old started into the super hero phase I decided to introduce him to WW. He loves her!! In his words "she's beautiful" I enjoyed taking a journey back into childhood memories as well. Enjoy it for what it is and don't compare the stunts, etc to today's technology. My little guy is a big Dukes of Hazard fan so I have also bought the 1st and 2nd seasons of that for him. He loves them, and of course, Daisy is his favorite Duke. WW is action packed and lots of fun. Grab some popcorn and escape reality for awhile. Journey into a world where good always overcomes bad, and you will be rewarded with Lynda Carter's beautiful smile at the end.

I just love Wonder Women and her spins! Cheap and cheesey acting and scences but it just so cool though. It is her job to rid the world of Narzi's! I grew up in this time and I wasn't aware that the Nazi's were so big in America! LOL Half way through the season they lay off on the Nazi theme. Can't wait to get season 3!

The first, and somewhat arguably, the most true to the comic, season of Wonder Woman, puts the series with the character's origin in World War II, slightly adapted for the script. Lynda Carter grows as an actress quickly after the pilot, in her triple role of Princess Diana/Diana Prince, Yeoman First Class/Wonder Woman. The pilot is well-filmed, with guest stars Cloris Leachman (chewing the scenery in her very short appearances), Stella Stevens, and Red Buttons. The next two entries are adapted from actual comic book plots in 1942. The series then deviates from some expensive special effects (notably change sequences and bullets and bracelets) to less expense, but still interesting plots involving Nazi sabotage, an assasination attempt on General Eisenhower, counterfeiting by Nazis, cattle-rustling of government beef, kidnapping of American war heroes in Hollywood, evil Nazi plots in Argentina,and the first jet experiments, as well as less plausible stories involving a gorilla and a potential nuclear meltdown. Guest stars abound, including Linda Day George, Robert Reed, Christine Belford, Anne Francis, Dick Van Patten, Hayden Rorke, Jonathan Hillerman, Caroline Jones (as Queen Hipplolyte), and introduces Debra Winger as Princess Druscilla/Dru Prince/Wonder Girl. The original stories retain much of the camp from the comic book, although some dateline changes, and alteration of strengths and weaknesses, to allow for exciting capture sequences, are used. The guest stars and the "comic book" feel, while it remains dramatic, make this the best of the three seasons. Sadly, much of the interesting points of the character, and round personalities for both YN1 Diana Prince and Wonder Woman are lost in the later, heavy hitting "spy" era, when Diana basically becomes Wonder Woman to complete secret agent work she can't accomplish under her own power. Worth a watch, especially to see comic sidekick Etta Candy, played by Beatrice Colen.

I loved this when I was growing up. I must say that it seemed so corny now, however, my 12-year old loved it and we watched it for two days straight. She is begging for other seasons. It was nice to not worry about her watching something that might have nudity, cursing, or other references I don't want her watching. She loved watching a super hero movie.

I bought it as a birthday gift for my best friend. I loved that it was brand new in it's original plastic.

I bought this DVD collection because I loved to watch wonder woman. This purchase helped me capture a part of my childhood that I love. I have been looking for this collection since tv shows have been coming out on DVD. I did find this collection in stores but it was $69.00 for it. I found it on e-bay for much less. I bought it. So Thanks for having a good deal for me.

I bought this product for a christmas gift. The person I bought this for is a big Wonder Woman fan. She was thrilled with the product and loved it.

My daughter is 4 yrs old and loves Wonder Woman, just like I did when I was her age. She watches Justice League all the time and I thought about the original series that was on television when I was a child. I looked it up on e-bay and found what I was looking for. She got the set for Christmas and loves it. Everything was in great condition and I got it very quickly from the seller.

I grew up watching Wonder Woman, and its hard to find movies now and days that are decent for children to watch. I purchased this DVD set for my 6 yr old daughter and for myself to re-live some of the memories I had watching as a young girl.
I loved the movies,its just like I remembered and it most definatly brought back memories and I was able to share that with my daughter, who now is a fan of wonder woman.
I highly recommend the Wonder Woman series, for any fan of wonder woman old or young.

I loved everything! I felt like a kid again and of course that was some years ago and the shows are from quite some years ago but, Wonder Woman was a great super hero! She always looked perfect and has great morals! So if you can get your children to watch it without them saying oh, look what they wore, then they may enjoy it but not as much as I do! My son who is 5 loves it!!

It so much fun to revisit the original series and play "where are they now?" The production value, complete with inconsistent color to b&W and back dog fights, is incredibly cheesy. Linda Carter is just as beautiful as I remember, but it's hard to believe they could get through a scene without the entire cast cracking up. I haven't checked to see if there is a 'bloopers' feature on this DVD, but that would be a good addition (if it's not there). This DVD has already proved to be a guilty pleasure.

I'm a child of the 70's and a huge superhero fan. Wonder Woman was and is my favorite superhero of all time! I grew up with Wonder Woman/Princess Diana. I never missed an episode of the Superfriends or 'The New Original Wonder Woman'. I was only 7 years old when Lynda Carter stole my heart and I've been in love ever since. What a beautiful woman! She,in my opinion,captured the very essence of who and what Wonder Woman is. I was ecstatic when the Sci-Fi channel aired the show. I watched faithfully just as I had as a child. Sadly the Sci-Fi channel hasn't shown the show in years nor has any other network. I got tired of waiting to see the show again and decided to look on Ebay for it. I found an excellent copy of the first season in like new condition. The seller(redbird1969) offered it at a very fair price. The discs arrived just as seller stated in the description. They were like new and play very well. The case is in near mint condition and the shipping was super fast. I paid for the set on 3/8/2009.Seller shipped out on 3/10/2009 and I received it on 3/18/2009. I couldn't be happier with the entire transaction! I bought season 1 as a birthday gift for a dear friend. She's almost as big a fan as I am. We watched the set together and enjoyed every campy moment of it. I've borrowed the set so often that my friend decided to 'gift' it back to me lol.

This is a MUST HAVE for any individual that loved and appreciated the shows of the 70's! I was born in 1969 and loved the television of the 70's. ABC was looking for a show to fill in the slot of the Bionic Woman during after Lindsay time off between seasons but who knew!? Along came Wonder Woman and Lynda Carter was the ultimate Amazon Princess; beautiful and believable, and a definite fan of the male viewers as well. The 1st season takes place during WW II, while the other three season took pace in modern times (during the 70's of that time). This television show really brings life to one of the most famous heroiens of the DC Universe. Don't miss this amazing collectors set!

This DVD was used but in excellent shape and something that I could not pass by. again I do not watch TV much but these shows I know are good wholesome fun the whole family can watch and are excellent learning tools for younger kids. There is nothing I don't like about it and I do not buy things I do not like so... I really enjoy watching TV programs from this time. They were not as violent as today and they were family oriented. I highly recommend this DVD to anyone wanting to find programming suitable for the entire family.

For those who were hormonally-surging teenage boys when this was televised, 'Wonder Woman' was must-see TV. Seeing them again now, you can still get that same school boy thrill, but it is easier to also appreciate how true to the original comic the first season is. Set during World War II, the good guys are pure good and the bad guys are pure evil (Nazi's make great villians), with just the right amount of cheesecake and a touch of bondage (just like the comic). While the series did indulge in the camp that was in vogue at the time, it struck a pretty good balance that seems charming today.
The dvd set itself is attractively packaged, with the 3 discs each in its own section (I find it annoying when they 'stack' discs on top of each other, like the 'Gomer Pyle, USMC' and 'Adventures of Superman' sets). The packaging is colorful, with lots of photos from the episodes in the set and some nice Wonder Woman comic art. There is a brief description of each episode on the box flaps (not under the discs), so they are easy to read.
If you prefer your special effects to be state-of-the-art CGI, and your 'heroes' leather-clad, dark, tortured, and murderous, then you will probably not enjoy this set. If, on the other hand, you are nostalgic for some good old-fashioned 'innocent' fun, then get this set.

The seller never notified me when the item shipped, and when I requested the information I did not receive a response back. Also, there was a deep crease in the spine of the movie that was not mentioned in the description, which had stated "like new" and "excellent condition" with no defects listed. This bothered me the most because it was a birthday gift, and I *prefer* not to give gifts that looks "used".
