The Wolf by Shooter Jennings (CD, Oct-2007, Universal South Records)

You can really hear some of his father, Waylon Jennings finally come out on The Wolf. This is more like country than Shooter's first efforts (which were very good in my opinion by the way). With this cd you get less of the drinkin' & partyin' feel and more of a better song writing style with much stronger lyrics than any of his previous recordings. Country fans will love this cd, rock fans who had a father growing up who had his father's music playing at home would also like this cd too! (that was my case with my dad buying a lot of Waylon on vinyl as I grew up in the 1970's). Get it, you'll enjoy it, there really isn't a bad song on here.

Ive always been crazy. lol. about waylon jennings. I have bought a couple of shooters cd's just because of who he is. He is a very good intertainer. And every once in a while you can hear his dad come out in his voice. This is a pretty good cd. Just wish he would do a few of his dads songs on some of his cds.

I loved Shooters Father and Mothers music, and have collected nearly every cd they recorded, Since Shooter is their son, I am collecting his cd's too. The oly thing I dislike nothing about this cd. I had visited Shooters home page to see where he was going to be over the 4th of July week end. I noticed he had another cd recorded so had to see if ebay had the cd...Of course they did. So I bought one...Thanks

THIS ALBUM IS ANOTHER GREAT CD BY SHOOTER AND THE GANG. IT HAS THEIR DISTINCT SOUND THAT FANS ENJOY. OVERALL IT IS WHAT I HAVE COME TO EXPECT FROM THIS BAND. I BOUGHT IT TO HAVE THE NEWEST ALBUM TO GO ALONG WITH THE PREVIOUS ONES.

I have two other Shooter Jennings cds and this one is probably my favorite. It is a little more country than the other two and maybe not as rough. Anyone who has listened to Shooter knows that a lot of his music is about drinking, drugging, etc. I would say that this album sort of strays from that but seems to have a deeper meaning. It also features a duet with the Oak Ridge Boys.

Loved the new cd...Very different from first 2 but still sticks to his roots! The band rocks in concert and on the CD.
