When I Woke by Rusted Root (CD, Mar-2005, Mercury)

When I Woke is a masterpiece from beginning to end.

The first track "Drum Trip" is exactly what it sounds like, a drum trip.

It gets your blood pumping and just when you think its over, the next track "Ecstasy" chimes in. After that, Send me on my Way, is the third track. After hearing this tune (their most popular) you will recognise who they are.

I had an opportunity to meet the band a few years ago, and was floored at the fact that they treated me like I was one of the band.

We took pictures, laughed, and talked about their music, their tour, and their future albums.

This album comes HIGHLY recommended by me, for that road trip, and its even great to exercise to!

I loved this CD when I was in college and my 7 year old son listened to it in car on a road trip one time and it instantly became his favorite disc. We lost ours and were so happy to find it again on ebay. The sound is so unique and the beat of the music is mesmorizing. It is timeless and alway great to listen to.

This is a CD of modern day 90's music for the modern hippie. If you like to pop in a CD and groove, jive, and shukle buk or whatever this is the cd for you. The first like 12 minutes of the album is some of the best campfire jamming music ever written with the immense power of the layered drum work and strumming acoustic guitars its perfect!

I love this cd, every song on it. It's high energy, positive, world beat music- you can't sit still when it's on. This was an excellent price and a great opportunity to replace it-my music collection was stolen and I'm slowly rebuilding it.

It's a good, classic album from the '90's. I had lost my copy and needed to get a replacement. A must have for any cd collection. There are plenty of great songs and jams.
