I looked in alot of stores for The Wiz and could not find it. Here is was on e-bay! I thought surely after Michael Jackson passed it would be hard to find a copy. It wasn't expensive and it was shipped really quick. Great experience.

) The positive- Casting was great, Singing superb, Dancing well done, Costumes were wonderful, Scenery was good for that time, and the Acting was perfect. Love Michael Jackson and Diana Ross, Nipsey Russell is good.
The negative- The Plot. The plot was ok up until Dorothy picked up Scarecrow, Tin man, and Lion, and then it got boring.

The costumes are great!! The singing is great. I love this movie!! One part of the movie was really long. They were changing colors. Once you get over that scene it is smooth sailing.

very good.Even though I saw this movie years ago before dvd. It was just a good as when I first saw it. The quality of colors were excellent and the songs were just wonderful. It was a very good movie.

I LOVE this movie. It brought back a lot of good memories. It also made me cry thinking about Micheal Jackson's death. But, this is a great clean movie, that I would highly recommend for the whole family.

The Wiz DVDPresent for my brother; he was very happy with it. I decided to buy this DVD in light of the fact that we have lost one of the greatest entertainers of all time. His part in The Wiz was Oscar-worthy, and this DVD is truly a collectors item. My brother has the Beat-It jacket, the Thriller jacket, and now he has a copy of The Wiz.

An excellent take on a classic story.I bought THe Wiz DVD to replace my VHS copy. I enjoy this version of the Oz story becasue it is different that The Wizard of Oz, but not so much so. The sets are different and the story has been changed to be more modern. I orgianlly purchased the Wiz becasue I am a huge Michael Jackson fan, but the rest of the performances are just as good as Jacksons. I really like the songs and the way Oz was designed in this version. It is almost as good as the Wizard of Oz.

The reason for my purchasing this is my 12yr old has never seen it and with the untimely passing of Michael Jackson it was a great keepsake also. I was so impressed with the overall quality of the movie its just like when I first saw it as a kid! The best thing is that many of the celebs starring in this film ( Nipsey Russell, Richard Pryor) are also deceased now and its a great way to remember them also. This is a great film that will capture the hearts of young and old alike. This is not the Judy Garland film, its a more modern version but it still has the ring of truth that there really is no place like home!!

Just Good EntertainmentThis a classic movie and I have not been able to buy on DVD. It was a great family movie when I was a kid and now my kids are lovin' it too. I have no dislikes about this movie, it is just full of the old school entertaninment, talent, and what a musical should be like. There are a number a thing you miss when you only watch a movie one time. Thats the benefit of owning a movie such as this, you can see something new every time you watch it. THE WIZ is a movie for every one even if you are from a different culture than in the film, there is someone or some character that everyone relates to in the movie. The quality and clearness of this dvd is great also.
