"The Witch's Shield..." is an excellent book on defense magick simply because it is short, but amazingly informative! Mr. Penczak begins this masterpiece by describing the types of psychic harm, the symptoms of psychic attack, prevention techniques, techniques to quell present psychic attack, and maintenance, etc... Mr Penczak presents this information like a science project may be presented in school, with a wealth of supporting facts for any skeptics. The Audio CD that is sold with the book is an added bonus because it gives anyone who has difficulty memorizing exercises, rituals, spells, etc... a step-by-step worry-free guide. Worth EVERY penny!

) I first picked up this book at my local library and upon reading it, I was blown away! I simply HAD to own this book. Penczak provides helpful advice and exercises in a way you can understand and practice easily. He's straight forward and very informative. Everything from defending against the evil eye to summoning archangels, it is the definitive book on defending yourself against harmful magick. If there really was a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, I guarantee you it would be Christopher Penczak. A must own for any (positive) magickal practitioner.

Psychic Protection: Prevention Is The Best DefenseReview created: 04/16/06

As a practicing clairvoyant I felt the need to build up a barrier of protection for myself. So I purchased The Witch's Shield by Christopher Penczak about two years ago.
This book helps the reader protect themself from the living and the dead alike through prayers, meditations and spells when needed. I liked this book because even though I am not a Wiccan I found meditations and prayers that I could incorporate into my own spirituality. But my favorite part of the book is his views and explanation on curses, which will bring comfort to the superstitous.
The author goes over protection symbols, herbs and stones from various cultures and belief systems including the cross. He even has a whole chapter on Psychic Hygiene for our spiritual bodies and a Light Pillar exercise similar to that used in Qabala.
The book comes with a CD of protection meditations to help the reader form their own personal protection shields. The author also discusses how to get help through prayers and meditations for the Angels, Michael, Gabriel and Uriel. He also explains how to get help from power animals and guides.
Another thng I liked was how the author narrates in a clear and comforting voice. He gives very practical advice from a broad minded perspective. Such as "If you expect conflict you will magically create it and receive it. If you expect and create peace you will receive peace."
