I Wish That I Had Duck Feet by Theo Lesieg (1991, Hardcover, Reissue)

This is the first book I actually remember owning as a child. It obviously left a good impression on me. This book allows a child to imagine and teaches a very good moral (wishing we had things we don't, doesn't always work out well). It also teaches appreciation for our unique situation in life. I decided to buy this book because I now have two small grandchildren and think that they would enjoy this book as much as I did as a young pre-k child. I remembered so much about this book myself, and as they say tried and true is the best way to go.

I Wish That I Had Duck Feet was one of my son's favorite books when he was little (he's now turning 25). When he outgrew his children's books, I donated them to a family who could not afford many books for their child.
Now I've decided to replace his favorite books for him.

I just re-read this book and found myself smiling - what a great book for children of any age (even 50). Terri, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

This is a very good book for young readers. It teaches children to think about the pros and the cons of wishing for things. I think everyone can relate to this book. So many people wish to change things about themselves and always think that it would be good. They don't always think about the negative things that could happen. This is a classic Dr. Seuss book.
