The Wire - The Complete Series (DVD, 2008)

All I can say is I think it is by far the best programing ever put on TV totally engrossing You must have to start at the begining and follow the story line or you can get lost Must see TV

This is the best series ever written for TV.
My husband and I watched it before and this is one of the few TV series I want to own
as I want to watch it over and over.
It is raw, sad, extremely gripping and the language is colorful but it is impossible to stop watching.

Be prepared to give up 60 hours of your life becuase this s**t is ADDICTIVING.
Simply amazing. The added value of the less than 20 minutes of exclusive bonus features isn't nearly enough to push those who have bought The Wire season-by-season to (in the parlance of the show) "re-up" for The Complete Series set. But if you've somehow managed to miss a singularly outstanding series, now is the time to make the buy (slim bonus features be damned). The kudos thrown to this show, in this review and countless others, are not mere hyperbole. Believe the hype; this is a phenomenal series, and a necessary addition

Great series, one of the best I have ever seen. I can't believe I didn't watch this when it was on HBO, but I am glad I got to watch everything at my own pace.

I purchased it for my boyfriend as a late christmas gift, and i recieved a much better price than in the stores. He loves this show, and hasn't yet stepped away from the television. I had no idea that i would win the whole series for the price that i did. It's also good for me because i could never catch the show when it would air on tv, so now i have that opportunity to catch up from start to finish. I decided to buy it again the selling price was so reasonable, and i knew how much he wanted it, so i decided to bid and i am glad i did because i paid half the price on ebay then in the store.

The Wire is an awesome series. Far too often, it is overlooked as Homicide: Life on the Street was beforehand. David Simon is a genius, and I highly recommend watching it for any Oz/Homicide fans.

The Wire is one of the best shows I have ever seen. It looks at the problems of every major city and explores them from the ground up. You see how the system works from dope fiends to drug moguls to the police department to the politics that run it all. Every season is good in its own right and looks at the problem(s) from a new perspective. The finale ties everything together, leaving no loose ends.

If you enjoy a well written series like Dexter or Californication then you will not be disappointed. This is a great series with several overlapping plots, great characters, and fantastic acting. If you like cop dramas and a dry subtle humour, then this is definitely for you!

One of the best television dramas ever, one of the few that is really worth owning. The focus of the series on development of the story is superb.

I love this show. It's the best tv show I've seen besides Arrested Development. Make sure to pay close attention or you'll miss something. Amazing.

I am NOT a cop-show person. I'm a 30 year old female so I'm guessing I'm not the target audience for this show either but it's HANDS DOWN the best show I've ever seen. I'm invested in every single character, every plot line. Each season has it's own "case" and so far (I've seen 4 seasons) I can't pick a favorite because they're all so interesting in their own way. I've started to watch this from the beginning again so my husband can catch up!

One of the greatest series of all times that if watched, could really make people re-think the society we live in. LOVE IT!!

A seller profile was created to fraud 8 people out of this product. After the seller received all the orders, they quickly canceled their account without a refund. No product was every received.

This product was about half the price on e-bay as it was in any store. It was brand new and in perfect condition. It came all the way from China and made it here within a week. I love the show and can't wait to re-watch the entire series with audio commentary. The special features are great and I can't wait to see what David Simon comes up with next.

This is something i wanted for a while and i found it cheaper on here. I am pleased with the shipping and product.

The Wire is a great series, but the way HBO decided to package it is confusing at best. It's in a cheap little cardboard box and the disks move around a lot. As far as I know, none of the disks I have were damaged after I examined them, but it's definitely a possibility just because of the awful design. I recommend that when you get the product, check each DVD to make sure it's not scratched, though I'm not sure there's much you could do even if it was scratched. I took all of the DVDs out, placed them back in their little plastic sleeves, and carefully placed them back in the box. I'm considering buying a CD case just to hold them in, but as long as your careful with them, you should be fine. Overall though, just a stupid design. A real nuisance.

I have been a huge fan of the Wire since day 1. I didn't have HBO so I would see it whenever I had a chance. Having the complete series makes it easy to watch them all in order.

I loved everything about the series! I watched a couple of episodes while it was on HBO and was really into it just didn't have the time. So, now I can watch them all.

Heard great things about this HBO series. Thought it was time to see what the fuss was about. Well worth seeing!
