The Wire - The Complete Seasons 1-4 (DVD, 2007, Multi-Disc Set)

I love the wire. I spent most of my TV time over the years watching The Sopranos and ignoring The Wire. Once the Sopranos ended I found myself very bored and thought what the heck lets check out the Wire. WOW, is what I first thought. This crime drama takes place in Baltimore, Maryland and spends the entire season focusing on one major drug dealing crew. This HBO series gives you an in depth look at the drug trade and the people who run this drug trade. This series also does a great job of showing how local law enforcement deals with the drug trade. So many TV shows take one hour to solve a crime, The Wire is much more realistic in that they take an entire season to solve a series of crimes.

This was the most inconvient thing I have ever expirenced through ebay. I bidded on this particular item and sent payment overnight so the seller would recieve my payment fast. The seller never responded to until 4 days later that she was out of town. Understandable. She knew the payment was sent through fed ex that friday and I was told that sunday she was returning. The payment was never picked up from the fedex location after 3 days of her home return. I called fed ex and notifiyed them of the situation on a tuesday that next week to not return the package that I was tryin to get in contact with the seller for several times. They still sent the package back to me the next day. So I was charged back for fed ex services. I sent the moneyorder through regular mail and haven't heard anything back since the first responce she wrote me. I eventually had to stop payment because the seller wasn't informing me that the payment was recieved. So that why I'm not too happy with this transaction.

the description sd it was new and showed that it would be individual box sets of the seasons. the item i received came from China and it all was in a box set that looked like they were just copied. When i looked at one of the DVD's, it was not clear and I was highly disappointed. When I contacted the seller, he said he was just a go between. This was definitely false advertisement. I was planning on giving this to my daughter as a present. i refuse to give her this bootleg mess!!!!!

I can't say much else, just if you're a fan or the superficial crime series that are played on television like a CSI or Law & Order (Which I could never stand either) you'll more than likely either love The Wire or won't be able to follow it as instead of everything solved within an hour of television, this series takes one case per season. It's actually in my eyes a real portrayal of how the system works. It's flawed, when arrests need to be made it never happens, only usually when it shouldn't happen.


The game don't change, only the players in it. That is simply what the Wire is about.

Covers the drug game, police work, illegal smuggling of immigrants... Everything.

The final season just wrapped up this month, and do yourself a favor and catch yourself up to par. You won't regret it. This show should be viewed by everyone as it's an accurate portrayal of our American legal & crime cultures. It's worthy of a Pulitzer.

The second season is the least favorite of all, but don't miss out on it as later on in seasons you'll be wondering who some of the characters in the mix are.

And no show has a better Anti-Hero than Omar. The homosexual stick-up kid with the scar on his face who robs drug dealers.

You won't regret taking the time out to watch this show, and it's one of the only dramas this viewer finds re-watchable.

just awesome TV. get the set and settle in for some great entertainment as these guys work their cases. You get to see more detail then most cop shows

This was the best series HBO has ever televised - even more so than the Sopranos. Writers to this series was very true to the way of life in Baltimore. So sad the series ended.

Did not receive any notification from seller for about a week. Shipping was a little slow, but received items as advertised.

I love the wire and I had to have it. The shipper was amazing. I gave him the wrong ZIP code and it ended up not making it to my house. I asked the seller to resend it and he did without any problem or any charge.

the discs had chinese or something on them, but they were perfectly fine...it wasn't a bootleg or anything. the sound and picture were great. good deal!

Just as described. Sealed and brand-new DVDs, and they have all played perfectly! I would recommend this to anyone I know.

Did you like Sin City? If so you'll love The Wire. Politics -real world. Gangsters -almost surreal. Photography, editing, music, FX ---outstanding. Be there or be square, buy it and share it with koolie buds.

The item was nothing more than a bootleg copy. Though the seller agreed to a refund and has been courteous and reachable, I have yet to receive any refund after well over a month.

I loved the product until I discovered a duplicate dvd in season three that corresponded with a missing dvd. I contacted the purchaser (comarokinglives8@a0l.com) only to be told my only recourse was to try to exchange the box set with a local retailer. Not only is there no local retailer but I have my doubts they would rectify my sellers screwups.

It was brand new. The DVD's are wonderful. I bought it because I loved the Show and it was a great price.

The product was exactly what was advertised, exactly what I wanted. Seller response to my questions was immediate and thorough (and patient... I know I can be a pain! *smile*).

Shipping was fast, arriving in time for me to wrap it up for Father's Day and look as though I spent tons of money. :)

i love the show and had followed it from day one to the end. wish that they would bring it on back for at least one more season. had been looking for all 4 seasons in a set and luckily found this one. had to jump on it once i found it.

To save on unnecessary expenses, I got rid of HBO. The only show my husband watched on that premium channel was The Wire. Now, with this purchase he can watch it over and over again. Believe me, he loves the fact that I purchased this for him for Father's Day and watches it every chance he gets to watch TV. I'm awaiting the August release of Season 5.

Cops and drug dealers are not my cup of tea. But this show is written, directed and produced so well that it transcends the subject matter. Not one shortcut was taken with any character or story point. If you're sick of crappy TV and film this is the anticdote.

The best tv show since back in the day. I always wanted it and finally got it. I love this series of dvd's.
