WipEout Pure (PlayStation Portable, 2005)

The racing is exciting. Up to 12 tracks makes the game interesting. There are many places online that have done reviews. I can say the game is stable and visually exciting. I have only played against 1 person in ad hoc mode, which worked well. I don't know how well it works with 8 people.

This is one of the better games for the PSP.

Wipeout sequel that's comparable to the great original, Wipeout Pure for PSP is a great entry to the franchise. Racing is fast, furious and fun, the race crafts control well and using weapons against other racers is always satisfying.

The game has great visuals and soundtracks: the addition of downloadable content makes the game worth even more.

My son wanted a new game for his PSP and I didnt want to pay full price so I serached for a game he would like for less. I found this game and it was as a great price, I recved if very quickly and my son was playing it in no time.
I only had a possitive exsperience with this purchase and would buy from them again.

When I originally wrote my review of the Psp it was when this was the only game I was playing on it. Well as time has gone by I would have definately given the Psp a lower rating than I did because there just arean't many games that are very good for it. But, Wipeout for the psp is amazing. I find myself going back to this game constantly. In my opinion it is the only game that is really great on the Psp. Yes I know there is the grand theft auto games and a couple others, but for a handheld system these type of games are hard to get into. Wipeout is a game you can throw in your Psp and play for 15 minutes and significantly satisfy your gaming needs. Rpgs and games like GTA are ones that require more time to really get into. If your thinking wipeout is just like any other racing game your completely wrong. I don't get into racing games, Wipeout is unique in its own way. The hover craft type vehicles you control are very fun to do so as opposed to most car racing games controlling virtually the same. The graphics are outstanding with futuristic levels ranging from tunnels under water, through rain or snow, or up in the sky line. What really makes this game is the music though, the techno that is played throughout the game makes it really fun and you find your self thinking this game is really FRIKIN SWEET.

not as great as people say!knida boring actually! more for little kids! it is the same thing over and over really.

So far the game is ok, but nothin really excited about it. Dont like the racing track, they seem to boring and not exciting.

great racing game but more importantly it has a basic web surfing program included for the nifty psp

I was never really into the PSP, due to it's high cost and the plethora of racing and otherwise boring games that were plaguing the market at the time of release. But now that I can get second-hand copies of games, I can finally start appreciating them (a little). Wipeout Pure for the Sony PSP continues the tradition of the WipeOut series that began in 1995 with the release of the first wipeout game for the Sony Playstation, Sega Saturn, and PC. I found the graphics were as with most PSP games, amazing. Not flawless, but much better than you'd find in any other portable system around. I found that the steering lacked a little control, but just needed some getting used to. There were not that many tracks, only 8 to be precise without unlocking secret ones, which was a bit dissapointing. But the music is where this game really stands out. Great tracks and beats all around. If you're into racing games on the PSP, this is definitely the first one i would check out, but there are definitely better ones out there on other systems.

I bought this item new and I decided on this seller because they offered it at the lowest price. I received the game new and unopened and it plays very nice. Great racing game, much better than need for speed.

The game give you the impression of a new F-Zero (game for Snes in the 90's), great graphics, great sound, music, all the cool things. The tracks with all the loops. Is a good game, fun, but for racing is not the best.

If you've ever played a Wipeout game before you know what to expect, insanely fast futuristic racing !! If you haven't well... Wipeout Pure is a racing game with futuristic armed hover craft. When you start off you may think the speed is very slow. Well thats just so you can get used to it before moving on to the faster leagues. The Graphics in Wipeout Pure look great with a solid framerate, nice effects like sparks when you scrape against the side of the track/other racers and colorful effects for the environments and weapons/explosions and compared to other racing games on the PSP, they are at the top of the list. The color palet used is vibrant and clean. The enviroments and track design is well done and the Techno sound track fits the game perfectly. There is also online multiplayer and alot of free downloads for more tracks and vehicals. Overall Wipeout Pure is one of the best racers for the system and everyone with a PSP should own it.

i enjoy this one quite a bit. fun to play head to head, not as totally chaotic as twisted metal for the psp, but nevertheless i recommend this one freely

Was looking for a good racing game, not just on wheels. This was the highest-rated wipeout game for PSP and one of the highest rated PSP games ever. If you've played any of the other wipeout games or all the way back to the FX-Zero for N64, this is a great pickup for the PSP! Graphics are very nice and colorful for the PSP and has great presentation. Does take a bit getting used to the controls but the levels and speed increase the more you play, making it much more involving. Having "Mario Kart" type pick-ups and weapons makes it that much more challenging. If you like any games with nice, eye-catching graphics and fast, challenging style of play (i.e. Burnout Legends, SSX tricky, etc.), dont hesitate to pick this up!

This game is designed way back but still its worth to be called an excellent rather a must game for a PSP. I have played the Wipeout Pulse demo before buying this and I must say Wipeout Pure has not let me down. Pulse has better graphics and slightly cleaner gameplay than Pure but Pure is as entertaining and as playable than any other top rated game in its genre on the console.

I love the speed, downloadable content, level of toughness, power ups.

There isn't much that I don't like about Pure, but if you play Wipeout Pulse before this, you may not appreciate the graphics.

Buy this game if you are into racing and smashing.
