This is the fifth "prey" series by Mr. Sandford. Lucas Davenport is feeling the cold as he tracks down a brutal killer. The story allows the killer's thoughts to be read so the reader can listen to his movements as he does one thing and then another. The killer now has his target set at Weather, the doctor of a small town. The town's sheriff is trying to help, but right now the only suspect he has is the town priest. Davenport doesn't believe the priest is the killer. Somewhere out there is a maniac and he will have to hunt him down or die doing it.
Davenport is a character you root for. The story characters are well written and come to life with their own personalities. The suspense is chilling, especially when you read the killer's thoughts.
